I installed some Rene Hearse antelope hills 700c x 55. Got them on and seated no problem a few days ago. I’ve ridden it on a couple short rides at about 45 PSI. Tonight decided to air them up to 50psi(max is 55), pulled the pump off, had time to put the valve stem cap on and BOOM. The tire blew off and got sealant all over me.
The inner rim width is 30mm and I believe Rene Hearse says these tires will work on up to 32mm width. The rear tire was fine at 52(I promptly lowered it after the explosion).
Two questions, is the tire still usable after blowing off like that and second any idea why it would have popped off?

Some tire rim configurations are just incompatible. There are some tolerance differences that make them not play together well.
The tire is most probably still good.
First of all, consider if you need that high pressure?
Probably just too high psi for the rim tyre combo. Have fun cleaning it up! 😜

You should probably be around 21-25psi for that tire / rim combo.

Sidewall max PSI is for tubed use only. For max tubeless pressure, you need to check the max that your rim is rated for.
