New here as been looking at some BMXs – on a nostalgia trip of late. Ive been offered this for 250 bucks, almost original everything, but the chrome on the front forks is gone, there’s some surface rust, but I think k it will clean up. I wanted a bike that needs a little TLC but not a full rebuild, this ticks those boxes. Are there any red flags you can see that I should be worried about? I would upload more pics but havent figured out how to do it.

I would fall asleep as a 15 year old kid dreaming of this bike. At the local skate park there was one guy with this bike and I thought he was the man. Now I’m older and fatter, I have some cash to purchase my 15 year old dream. Initially I see nothing wrong with this, guy says he’s owned it for 30 years, it looks pretty legit. I just wondered if there’s any red flags that stand out to you experts that might throw doubt on with whether it’s a legit performer or not. Looking forward to sharing in the community once I get it and begin refurbishing things.

If you look at the end of the top tube, it should be stamped with GT.
The only difference between the Preformer and the Pro Performer was parts. IIRC.
