Hey! Noob here. I’m trying to install a new seat on this post but I feel like it’s missing the bottom plate but I have been buying and selling a lot of bikes lately and learning a lot. I’m not sure if this is just a different type of seat post head without a bottom plate or if I misplaced the bottom plate somewhere. Can someone confirm that I’m missing something or show me how to install this particular type of seat post head to a seat? Ty!!

Yep. Missing.
Yes. The bottom plate is loose on these, so if it is not screwed down snug it can fall out. Check your truck bed, or wherever you took the saddle off.
No clue what the actual part is called but it’s generally not generic.
I’ve had many posts with this clamp design and even though they basically all function the same way the parts vary slightly from one to the next.
