Don’t buy DT Carbon Swiss Wheels

I wanted to post about my experience with DT Swiss wheels. I bought a carbon set of wheels from DT Swiss in 2019. The very first ride on the bike… the carbon wheel exploded…. Very First ride… I thought it was a manufacturers defect and they replaced the wheel. I hope that this wouldn’t happen again.. Fast forward to 2024, The wheel explodes again. I am really lucky that I wasn’t hurt in the process but please do yourself a favor and don’t buy DT Swiss Wheels. Here was the response from DT Swiss when asked if they would make it right. I took it to the shop to get them to help me with this and when asked, why they wouldn’t warranty it, this was their response:

*”That is correct, just like I told your shop this type of damage is not covered under warranty. There is a lifetime warranty on wheels purchased after or on January 1st, 2020 which is almost another two years after you purchased your wheels and even if you had purchased after Jan 2020 that type of riding damage is not covered under warranty, wheels do not just fall apart like that riding along and If there were any manufacturing defects that would have qualified you for warranty they would have presented themselves before 6 years of owning and riding the wheels.”*

Show me where on this trail, you could really abuse a wheel…

Terrible Customer service, and they make a dangerous product. Do NOT buy these XMC Rims. They could kill you….
