In 2024 I bought my first bike: https://www.reddit.com/r/xbiking/comments/1ahw5n4/exciting_journey_restoring_a_vintage_trek_830shx/
I’ve already purchased new tires, Shimano Cues 1×10 speed groupset, new handlebars but I’m still putting everything together (I’m very newbie on this).
Out of nowhere this ad appeared on the marketplace and I ended up buying another painting. Now I don’t know what to do. If I finish the Trek project or move on to this Giant frame that seems to be from 1996.
Do you also face this dilemma several times? Are you finishing a project and when you’re almost at the end another frame appears and you feel like starting all over again?

I hate when translator decided to replace “frame” for “painting” 😅
If they both fit and are aesthetically equal, and are of the same style, I’d favor the more unusual one, which would seem to be the Giant, especially if it’s lighter. I’ve never seen double-butted Chromoly tubing with the change in exterior shape. And it has that European design notation that I have not seen on a Giant, yet. Of course you have to decide what to do for a fork, but that may also be a benefit!
Yes I was just finishing my recent refresh of a Nutra (soon to be posted) when a more attractive bike of similar frame type came available about 125 miles away. I was tempted, but realized I should give my current effort some riding love before I consider redoing or replacing it.
It’s okay to have a hobby! But it’s also easy to get addicted to buying more bikes.
Yes. Welcome to the club.
I bought ten bikes last year.
Ever heard the saying, ‘It takes two bikes to build one.’
Can’t believe I’ll be the first to post, welcome to the n+1 syndrome.
At my peak in early 2022, I had 14 rebuilt bikes and 9 frames plus wheelsets.
I now only have 2 bikes and 1 spare wheelset.
Downsized from a house with a garage to an apartment without one. It was sad to move those bikes on but the move was worth it.
It’s not addiction if you can quit anytime you want!!!!! 🥲[:)](https://media.tenor.com/b2x0jXsXTdAAAAAM/you-got.gif)
Hell yeah Granites are so cool, super rare to find them in the states. Have one lined up early March that I want to build up different from my GT. I think as long as you make each bike unique you really shouldn’t be worried about building more.
Yep. Welcome to the club.
