Just recently took my bike to a bike shop to get the chain adjusted after it popped off and during the first ride after getting it back from the shop this screw holding the left pedal assembly on backed out a ton and now it won’t screw in straight and keeps wanting to go cross threaded even though i start off with screwing as straight as possible. If it’s needed, the bike is a free agent maverick

It’s cross threaded. Gonna need a new spindle and/or bolt
Someone at that shop probably used an impact driver/power tools to tighten it down and cross threaded it. It’s pretty hard to cross thread a spindle by hand, you will feel it right away.
