Yesterday I finally succeeded in doing a 150km ride with 1100 m altitude. I tried this route a couple times before and failed (because of the weather conditions). The first time I didn’t have enough water and all the public taps were closed because it froze. I made it to 130km that day – so close… The second time it was raining so bad that my hands were soaked and became too cold.
This time there was a lot of wind and some light drizzle, but not enough to keep me at home. Luckily this time I succeeded and I’m very happy!
I am training to ride the Amstel Gold Race (200km and 2200m altitude) and was getting a bit insecure about making it. This fuels the belief that I can make it that day.
