I think the neighbor is screwing with me. He knows I’m eyeing up his 90’s Trek that he still rides several days a week. This appeared behind his shed in plain view of prying eyes. Anyone have any info on these? Should I bite and ask about it or leave it be? Looks like it’s more than salvageable. Thanks in advance.

Leave it be, if it’s his one and only bike that he rides twice a week, then let him keep it. If he had too many bikes, like some people on this forum have, then make an offer. Also, for anyone, that black thing on the top tube, it’s bird shit, don’t bother looking.

I love those handlebars, and the stem, which is harder to find than you’d think. Hell yeah I’d see if you can buy it for $25-50. I’d much rather have the Panasonic than whatever similar Trek you speak of.
I have a MC-3500. really cool bike. This one has cantis in the back whereas mine has a U brake. These things have long af stays, so they ride like a cadillac
