  1. Did you do anything to it before it got that way or it just “happened”? The spring may be broken?

  2. Derailer might be gummed up with dirt so if no longer pivots properly. Could also be a broken spring inside.

    If you have the savvy (and the nerve) you should try disassembling it and seeing what’s up. In all likelihood, your best,cheapest option is replace it.

    Looks like it needs some B tension and maybe clutch service. Clutch spring may just need tension added.

  4. The main body of the derailleur looks pretty scuffed up. May have had one two many drops or some other hits. New derailleur probably needed.

  5. Is the clutch in the on or off position? What happens when it’s flipped to the other position?
