I’m planning on changing out the stock integrated H31 cockpit on my Endurace as the bars are too wide for me. I’ve picked up a V13 stem, 38cm bars and the GP0193-01 changing kit. Still need to grab some round spacers. I’ve had a quick look and it looks like I’ll need to drop the installed expansion plug down the steerer a little to accommodate the longer bolt on the top cap. One question I have is do I still use the expansion wedge EP1297-01 with the V13 stem?

Anyone done similar conversion and anything I’ve missed or need to consider? Thanks.

No, that wedge is for the integrated cockpit. I’ve done the opposite conversation (Stem/Bar to Cockpit)

  2. You can leave the the plug where it is (3,5 cm from top of the wedge to the top of the steering column). The plastic tube and rubber o-rings need to have space and they are the same. In your case I would leave the wedge extention where it is because it supports the steerer. Stock bikes don’t come with one because the oversized steerer technically doesn’t need support but it’s a lot safer to keep it. The rest is correct and you can change it without any issue. Don’t forget to loosen the screw of the transition plate before you disassemble it.
