  1. Seller either knows nothing about bikes or is deceiving you. Its broken and should be replaced, either the cog or the whole casette depending on how worn it is

  2. Not a campag expert or even fan. But that is very far from mint. Mint means perfect condition or unused. There is grease all over that cassette and it has broken teeth, obviously heavily used.

  3. Smallest sprocket wears quickest.amd has the least amount of grip on the chain due to fewer teeth – especially when it’s missing one

  4. Definitely broken, you can tell by the sharp edges that it wasn’t manufactured that way. If you want the wheelset for the wheelset, buy it, but don’t let the seller convince you the cassette adds value. Tell them to throw it in for free or take it off, you don’t want it.

I’m hesitant to buy used cassettes anyway, because it’s hard to evaluate how much life is left in them or even if they are acceptable until you build a bike up and try it with a new chain. But in this case, seller is already giving you some BS… and perhaps someone else told them that and they are just repeating nonsense and not blatantly lying but I wouldn’t trust them at this point.

  5. Id return and tell the seller to shove it where the sun doesn’t shine, He knows exactly what he’s doing and is lying.

If he doesn’t accept open a claim, That is just plain broken.

  6. I can clearly see rust, so yes its broken, been biking for 40 years and never since this “feature”

  7. My advice from personal experience is buy a new cassette. I was desperately trying to find a Campy 8 speed cassette and had no luck with eBay purchases. All worn and not in great condition. Hard to come by some exa drive campy cassettes but Miche Primato have got a few to chose from.

  8. They’re taking the piss, it’s unusable as-is.

Im pretty sure that’s not a real campagnolo cassette either…

The lock ring should say “made in Italy”

And the profile doesn’t look right, there also appears to be missing markings on the teeth…

  9. New cassette and chain, throw that broken cassette back to the seller for a full refund and if it’s an EBay purchase leave that prat the appropriate negative feedback.
