Got this Nishiki Manitoba from Dicks back in August 2018 for $400. Was wanting to spend more but all the bike stores either didn’t have what I wanted or ignored me all together. I totaled my Trek so just went with.

We’ve rode almost 13,000 miles since then. I’ve commuted in all weather, tours across Missouri Kansas and Oklahoma. I’ve upgraded most parts and it’s somewhat perfect.. Kool Stop, Marathon Pluses. It’s getting to the point needs both wheels I think. The back wheel was a transplant from the previous Trek. Might be able to sand down the braking surface on the front not sure. I have a hard braking commute.

Not going to lie my favorite color is orange and just bought a Kymco scooter in that color. I’ve been debating on a Salsa, can’t recall the model, in the orange color. Still would be a flat bar. A lot more upgradability on the Salsa. Just having a hard time putting a good horse down.

Thoughts? Even my wife says go for it lol. I have 3 other bikes besides this but this is my main one.

  1. Maybe upgrade the groupo? You can probably find a decent Shimano 105 group set, not need to put old reliable out to pasture, give it a legacy tour.

  2. I remove the decals from my bikes to demoralize the potential thieves. I’d get some orange spray paint if I were in your shoes.
