    i think the pedal strike issue is the biggest problem. i’d put a shorter crank on if you could. 700 to 26 is a big jump though obviously the big tires get you part of the way back. are the brakes squishy? i just did [something](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwLYbEjxIuA) like this this but 700 to 650b.

    If you go to 26″ wheels you’ll need extra long reach brakes, which will reduce your braking power. Your bottom bracket will be closer to the ground, increasing your pedal strikes. You’ll also have less choice of tyres.

    IMO if you want 26″ wheels you’re better off just buying a bike that comes with 26″ wheels.
