I’m doing some crank replacement and maintenance on my gravel bike, and when I looked at the drive side BB (Rotor T47 30mm internal), I was surprised to see that half of its serration was just gone (one tooth was still attached on that side but broke off easily). I have the fitting Park Tool BB tool, but unsurprisingly can’t get it to grip onto the remaining teeth without slipping. Any thoughts on how this could have happened, and what my options are if I wanted to get the BB out? The non-driveside BBs serration seems to be intact for now.

was the BB preassembled by the manufacturer? if yes is the bike still under warranty and have you contacted the manufacturers?
the cups are out of aluminium? if so you should be able to pull out the actual bearings and then saw the cup with a hacksaw to get the tension out of the cup. after that you should be able to unscrew it.

while sawing you will damage the threads on the frame slightly. unless you cut through the entire shell it shouldn’t affect the bottom bracket. just get the threads chased after you got the BB out.
