I bought a brand new hardtail(Scott Scale 950, 12x) and having a problem with chain slipping.
The chain keeps slipping when gear is on inner most cog(only on the innermost) at the front chainring. It happens quite often even though with no load at all.
I broght it to local bicyle shop and they reassembled the crank but no improvement. The mechainc said he would contact Scott.
I suspect quite extreme chain angle may be the cause of it. Please see the pictures I am attaching. Is it normal?
I am not familiar with single gear MTB.

No idea if 135/142 or 148mm spacing so can’t advise on spacers between BB and frame BB Shell
Sometimes the shifter or rear mech can just be such low quality they can flex, or not move enough.
That alignment from front to back is horrible. If that is a brand new bike I’d recommend taking it back and getting a refund than go elsewhere. Either something is wrong with the overall design that is causing the front ring to misalign or there is a huge issue in the crankset assembly. My experience with some issues that come when it’s brand new is it’s always an issue throughout ownership. I still having one that didn’t index correctly off the showroom and many repairs and 5 years later it’s still an issue.
