Dame Sarah Storey catches up with Tom Ross, Leader of Trafford Council, who hasn’t looked back since trialing an e-bike for his commute through Cycling UK’s Cycling Made E-asier scheme.
Find out how you can loan an e-bike for a month for free:

Good morning Tom now I think I’m right in thinking that you first started cycling with a cycling with a loan from cycling UK and the cycling made easier scheme is that right I certainly did yeah back in the summer I wanted to try start cycling and I thought this loan
Would be a great way of doing that so I borrowed a bromton ebike over the month of August and uh and haven’t looked back since it gave me the opportunity to look at the barriers I’ve put in my own way in terms of cycling and look at routes
To and from the town hall and to other places as well so it was well worth it before putting out that Financial outlay for a bike I felt from my trial that an ebike was the best thing for me um I’m not a confident cyclist yet and I
Thought that ebike gives you that extra push uh say at Junctions for example where it lets you go quickly at a junction as opposed to a a standard bike so it really worked for me it worked for my commute it worked for the way that I
Would be using my bike which is going short distances between different buildings in the in the bough what do you see in the future for craford when it comes to walking wheeling and cycling we are passionate about getting ahead with walking wheeling and cycling we’ve got a strategy that we’re putting in
Place we are working on Junctions across the bough but particularly in the Stratford area at the moment we see it that the more we invest in infrastructure the more it helps people walking wheeling and cycling across the B and it means fewer vehicles on the
Roads as well so we want to make it as pleasurable for everyone to get around the B and that’s why we’re committed to putting this into investment in
