It’s lovely to see things from a different perspective. I’ve never ridden a motorbike through London, maybe it’s about time.

Hi everyone this is the second episode of my special series with my viewer who rides his motorbike around the London area it’s nice to get a perspective from a motorcyclist perhaps I should get a motorbike myself now I thought that was a good idea to TU it back in there was a
Little bit of danger with this Junction on the right the white BMW could have done the same is my viewer looking to do an overtake I wouldn’t do it this point there’s a zebra Crossing coming up and thankfully they have the same idea as me the correct decision to sit and wait and
Aure traffic but hang on a minute what’s the bus doing it just shows you the pressures of time tables that’s poor but some of my bus driving viewers might be able to answer this our bus drivers reprimanded if they don’t stick to Schedules here’s a clip for cycling Twitter or X on what excuses you can make up for this guy doing this and the motorcyclist coming the other way use the horn apparently according to cycling Twitter you can’t do this to cyclist because it scares them and in reality that motorcyclist
Should have just carried on and ran the cyclist over because they did have priority most of my commentary on this clip is tongue and cheek but some of it scarily is what some people believe you’ve got to take a lot of care when you see a motorcyclist filtering just in
Case you’re using your phone his change of face was amazing as soon as he saw my viewer with the camera if he was on his phone I’d just like to remind people this is illegal even sat in a queue like this don’t do it this proves just how little attention
People actually have when they drive what green light do you see some more mobile phone use whilst queuing however that was clearly in his hand while the car was still moving not that it makes much difference again it’s really obvious the person in command of this vehicle knows they
Shouldn’t be doing it for me anyone caught in charge of a mobile phone should have an instant 3-month ban and this should be continued to be doubled every further offense let me know what you think ah packing up time for some Market stalls I see this quite often in
Liverpool and I also see the remnants of Van’s mirrors just like this one quite often too my viewers definitely a little bit of a petrol head they watch the Ferrari going into the petrol station but they’re also a good road user they now spot someone behind who’s
Not got any lights and they do the best to help Out lights let’s have a quick look at a bit of my viewers riding in Lanes well actually listen let’s see what they do with the speed of the motorbike in relation to Risk for how do you think they got on watch the Mercedes overtake it’s never going to get you that far especially in London most of the roads are 20s and all you’re going to do is sit at the next set of Lights that’s exactly what happens but why do
You think this is the case we find out in a moment ah they needed a little bit more coffee for the caffeine to keep them Lively whilst they’re driving that made sense I’ve given some moped Riders some stick recently especially the ones from London but honestly well done to this
Guy for walking his moped across the Crossing back to normal service my viewer did very well there another moped Rider restoring reputation someone got a little over excited and nearly overdid it I think I would have done something differently here I think I would have held back and let the pedestrians and
The cyclist finish another phone using queuing motor is spotted there he Is when you ride ahead of people like this keep a very close eye on them in your mirrors you’ve got to compensate for their lack of attention don’t forget and in this final clip my viewer shows a great understanding of when they’ve not been Seen again I’d like to say a massive thanks to my viewer for sending all these clips in I really enjoy putting these episodes together keep safe out there I’ll see you all soon

Bit near the end…. I would have let the cyclist and pedestrian across when driving …. But not when riding with cars behind me.
Family member of a bus driver and no they're not allowed to be reprimanded for running late, it'll encourage bad or dangerous driving
I spent twelve years driving buses, and now drive trains.
I found we used to be under pressure to keep to time, however there was reporting processes in place for regular issues to be looked at and timetables amended. We were told however there are 1001 reasons for running late, but never any for running early. It was only early departures that could get us into trouble..
When i joined First Bus in Leicester the line manager last words before we joined the team was "Dont worry about being late, its our job in the office to worry about that!"
Re mobile phone usage and penalties, I suggest there are circumstances where it’s absurdly disproportionate. For example, in a queue at a closed railway crossing, car in P. There is absolutely nowhere to go. There is zero risk of harm. And yet the penalty is brutal – perhaps based on the assumption that, when the gates open (and the phone is put down) somehow attention is reduced a minute later? And yet enforcement for all the much more dangerous incidents your videos show, is essentially zero. Surely a more proportionate balance would be better?
If you want to see loads of drivers using mobile phones, just go for a bike ride in London.
Mind you, you'll also see scooter riders watching YouTube on the go. They must be invincible 🤷♂️
Half hearted rev bomb at the end. 🤣
I’ve just watched the intro, the bus was wrong but he had line of sight of the crossing and anyone about to use it, at least so there maybe some mitigation?
I think clearly in that first clip the other bus driver no doubt waved him on, telling him it was clear on the right to go ahead. something tells me an LTN is involved for this poor road design. Whenever there's a mini roundabout which carries far more traffic in 1 direction than the rest you end up in a position where you're sat behind someone trying to turn right in this case but can't because of traffic, so even a good portion of the traffic doesn't want to stay in the heavy traffic lane they have no choice
Yikes, some dodgy riding and a lot of obsessing over others on the phone. Just send it to the police if you want it to stop. No point honking repeatedly and gesturing – only serves to annoy and escalate.
Few pointers from a biker – Slow down when approaching junctions till you can see who might emerge (just a few mph will do it). And when filtering, get a shoulder check in prior to changing to the off-side, and stay wider from the car doors (in case someone opens them or ped running across).
Who says you shouldn't beep if a cyclist is doing something stupid. Let them know, we saw someone who looked ready to cut across traffic the other day, I advised my mother to give a quick peep to let him know she was passing just in case. Hell, I have a horn on my bike, apart from the fact that there are a few single lane rail bridges near me, where it is just a good idea to let people know you are coming, you sometimes need to be able to get a drivers' attention, and they won't hear a bell! You want to sound like a car!
3 months is lenient for phone use in my opinion, it's an absolute scourge
Buses — in my local Town they nearly aways speed in 20mph zones and tail gate you if you travel at 20mph —– Agree with the phone idea.
As bus drivers we are not penalised for being late, only for being early.
1:00 Taxi shouldn't be in the advanced bike box.
bus drivers are reprimanded if they don't cut up at least 10 cars per day
At the 4 minute plus mark I wouldn't risk the undertakes (yes bad lane discipline by the car drivers and most of them are likely going to stay out there, but…..). Many years ago as a young motorcyclist in southeast London I experienced too many late lane changers and no look left turners (after speeding past me, no cameras then) to even contemplate trusting the observation of others. I enjoyed motorcycling and believe all new drivers should experience a year or two on two wheels. Vunerability improves your observation, situation awareness and consideration for others. If you don't believe me, try it. A careful motorcyclist becomes an old one.
I both drive cars and ride bikes and its shocking how different the two experiences are, certainly got to have your wits about you when motorcycling. Commuting to work with motorway filtering and city riding shows how poor the driving has gotten. Love the videos especially these two bike ones. Coming from a viewer in Scotland – keep it up!
As a rider in London myself, it wouldnt surprise me if the driver in the last clip did see the rider, but decided to push their way out anyway.
Bus driver here: the big no no is running early not late. This is why drivers may sit at a stop after passengers have boarded and alighted to prevent being ahead of time. I see the same people at 06:00 at the same stop each morning if I've sailed past at 05:54 they may have an half hr wait 😮 if I roll up 5 mins late however the consequences are probably not to bad.
Motorcycle rider here: I really appreciate the two wheeled clips as I learn from them (been riding 30 years) but the learning curve continues. Plus these vids give other road users an insight into a bikers behaviour and vulnerability. Thank you.
I ride a motorbike and drivers on their phones are apparent a mile away. You can usually tell from their road position, even when they are stopped.
Spends to much time dead centre of the lane, exactly where any rubbish etc accumulates and also stays greasy
Yes, when letting pedestrians or cyclists carry on crossing like that you are endangering them to the risk of the unawareness of other motorists. You’re much better off staying in control of the situation and carrying on, with care, making them hold back from their urgency to cross. What they do after you’ve passed is then their business. I’m not going to hold back and gesture somebody to cross as this is totally unsafe and if I’m not mistaken, a prosecutable offence. I’ve seen several near misses involving other motorists to know not to do this, and probably incriminate myself. Just carry on but with caution so that you’re able to avert any harm.
over the last few years i've noticed more and more people forget to turn thier lights on is this due to dashs on cars being better lit by led's than they use to be?
Also if a car behind has no lights on would flashing your hazard lights once be considered miss use?
