I went with the Grail, because I wanted something versatile that would allow me to just swap wheels depending on whether I want to ride on or off the road. I decided to go with the CF SL 7 since I wanted mechanical shifting for ultra races and to save some money on the initial purchase to then set the bike up to my liking. Parts I swapped: seatpost with no setback, Swiss Side Hardon All-Road Wheels and the pro version of the gear grove handlebars (90-400) for bike fitting purposes and to use the aero bars that go with it. It really doesn’t feel much different than a road bike, for sure not slower once set up this way.
