So been reviewing the popular phone mount options… and they basically require using a specific case. These cases compared to actual protective cases are not very protective… so once your phone is off the bike you (aka me) are probably going to damage the phone.

I use a chalk bag (made for rock climbing) for handlebar storage and stash my phone and snacks in it. Have fun
Theres no bomb proof solution that holds up to every possibility. You are overthinking it.
Quad lock with screen protector has served me better than anything else
