  1. I am struggeling to chose between a Crf300rally and the T7… point is, i first need to sell my sportbike wich is in the shop for repairs and some maintenance. If i get enough money from it i can probably buy the rally with a very small loan. But the T7 is way above it. But with the T7 i can cruise on the highway with the missus on the back

  2. I loved my 1150GS as a sport tourer, especially on our rough roads. Only bike I’ve had for all day comfort (for me). Gravel was fine, but I really never imagined it as an off-road rig. My F650 was far better for that!

  3. Each to their own but all I'll say is why are MX and trials bikes so light.
Adventure bikes are like Range Rovers.
Its more style than actual use. Out of all the thousands of ADV bikes very few actually do much adventuring off road.
Itchy Boots is about the most adventurous rider I know and the biggest bike shes used is a 500cc but mostly on a little 300cc Honda because its way more managble if you get into trouble.

  4. All very good info.. if mainly hwy riding.. get a reg bike ….
if off roading w/o much hwy=get a lightweight dual purpose.

  5. I prefer mid-size adv bike like ktm 790 adv is good enough for both, it is light dry weight 198kg and powerful n torque, reasonable price too.

  6. Honest words! I had VStrom and it was a blast on the paved roads, plenty of power, upright seating, fun to corner. However, when I dropped it, man, what a nightmare, high center of gravity, heavy weight makes it hard to recover. Big adv dual sport bikes aren’t for beginners alright!

  7. What you don t understand is that adventure bikes have never been made for adventure, just like SUV have never been made for off-road. It s all show off. Period.

  8. A ride a heavy cruiser. Outside of me being stupid, dumping it is a low probability. Off roading a heavy bike is almost assured you're going to drop it a lot.

  9. this video should be called 3 reasons not to get a big adventure bike if you plan on spending a lot of time off road, i have a ADV and enjoy it on the asphalt. i have absolutely nothing to complain about.

  10. The more u ride these big adventure bikes, the more they spoil other bikes for u especially the amount if comfort they give u. Plus down the line their weight, size and height does not bother u as much as u ride them more you ride them and difficult to go back on a smaller bike which is a serious compromise on comfort

  11. Honda 250l, have had it for 6 years, flickable, 144 kg, and its on the ground- I am 83 kg- gets a bit tricky taki g it off the ground.

  12. I find my 1190r is more stable on undeveloped roads than my WR450f. The trick is not to have to do a 180 turn in 5 ft trail. But big adv are more sure footed.
If i'm riding 100+ miles 1190r. If i'm beating the trail or less 100- miles and trough terrian. WR450f. No two knives are for the same job.

  13. People buy them for the "wrong" reasons, but it's their money, so let 'em. It's kinda like with the SUV's I guess…
Like with sport bikes. Most of the sport bike owners have never even been on a track.

  14. The point about power is evidenced by the fact that they have limiters built in, and a lot of pros use them. One day I will get an Africa Twin though, and it will never get dirty 🤣
