Well this is part two quick recap welcome to my channel Miss pronounced Adventures my name is Alex on this channel I do a variety of silly things from taking my van up to the Arctic to dressing as a pirate and getting drunk on an electric paddleboard
On my last site big Trevor I thought it’d be a smart idea to walk 50 kilometers in Winter to the Russian border and discovered that maybe a bike would be a better idea I’ve just seen how ridiculous this icicle looks it’s not it’s not I don’t like cycling but I have
Learned I do quite enjoy e-bikes so as someone who’s not ridden more than 25 kilometers before I thought I’d ride 119 kilometers or 74 miles in a day from Fort William to Inverness on a great but inappropriate size bike a mile or GB3 which is a 16 inch folding commuters
E-bike with the power bank straps at the back of it this episode joins us at Fort Augustus where I’m about halfway and it’s getting towards Sunset and I’ve got to make a few decisions so let’s get into it right I’m a bit of a failure I’ve failed to do
The great Glenway in how I wanted to do it so I’m adapting and changing the plan slightly I’ll show you why here is the map greggling way where for August is about halfway runs up this side of the lock it is really hilly and all of the gravelen hills I don’t think I’ve
Generally got enough battery power to do it or get there today but this map does say you can take the national cycle Route 78 which is this one on this side I’m looking at it it’s B Road whilst there is a steep section here the
Rest of it appears to be sort of flat along the lock side and if I want to get to inverse today with the battery power I’ve got which is now a full power bank and a full battery that’s what I’m gonna have to do which is no longer the great Glenway but
Actually National cycle Route 78 is part of the Caledonian way instead so still an official Trail I think it’s achievable for the time period I’ve got so let’s do it or fail but we’ll see onwards it is a beautiful look at the moment mind you look nice your tit apart from
These Hills I’ve got to go over [Applause] foreign off to the side but this is uh going to be quicker and probably less on the battery so let’s be pushing goodness for Gears right time to swap out put the other battery in so this is the third battery
Swap the last two batteries I had been charging the bike whilst riding which generally gave me enough time to charge the spare battery on the back before the battery I was using was fully depleted new battery in right that’s got the right side of the road oh yeah suddenly
A lot more power getting up this hill when the battery was almost flat it was only put in about 370 watt even less now it’s put in well the motor’s put in 440. cruising on up this hill it’s a long long descent though so That’s good I’ve just said about 440
Watt there which might seem a bit confusing since the micro Rider is a 250 watt bike and that’s what the UK lore is the law is 250 watt continuous output and generally that’s what you get in maximum assist mode going on the flat steep uphill or if you’re bogging down
The motor you end up pulling more whops oh this is steep and I’d like to tell you that it was a quick and easy ride past the lock to the top of the hill but it wasn’t Asleep At the beginning it’s only steep at the beginning this hill is steep
Even if I’m peddling already going up it about six miles per hour and using 450 watts of power might as well go off at four miles per hour and uh only use 80 watts and to serve some energy for the bike not me I’m extended energy
So it’s fine to drink gotta get up there I went from there I think it’s downhill for miles and miles all right well it definitely looks pretty up here that’s quite windy now but uh it’s still a long way to go and it’s a very very steep up at the
Beginning and then it flattens out hopefully about 10 miles downhill this place is downhill for a little bit foreign top of the hill half a battery and what looks like a long way down for some reason the the mic’s not charged so I’m gonna have to do this bit without talking again For a bit Wow that’s a hello dear all right well we’ve made it to White Bridge I can’t remember what the lap said something like that which is about mile 51 on my Dominator on here be going downhill for that so long it’s gone from 50 dupar’s charge back up to
Three bars charged whilst we’ve been riding because I’ve got the charger plugged in and the other battery’s charged on the back so we might do it we might just do it my butt hurts right I don’t know how well you could hear me but I think this is my turn off here
To follow the cycle route and when I do I’m committed until I get to the other end this could be downhill forever that’d be great well without pushing again this is Balls of Fire I have it bounced and this is like the last bit of accommodation or something I believe
Oh the big one for tonight so this is the give up point if you want to give up I don’t so commit to Inverness it’s getting dark so I’ll turn the uh the front light on there’s Loch Ness down there committed well start now well I’m back down at Loch Ness
Which whilst it’s pretty it means there is no more downhill for me to go down so I’ve got to ride it properly from here right it’s probably a bit dark that you can’t see me uh according to the GPS I got 23 kilometers to go so get in there oh [Applause] entering
Entering doors just run over my effort where are we all right I’m in somewhere called doors I’m about nine miles from Inverness I think or I mean the end point which is Inverness Castle this battle is almost flat but I’ll wired it till it’s dead
And then the one which I think is on the back is fully charged and I think there’s about 20 left in the um power bank so you should be able to do it should be able to do the last 10 miles of quite a bit of assistance on the e-bike as well
Right that’s this battery flat whilst doing this battery swap I’ve realized I’ve not complained enough about my bum about mile 50 my 19 pound new padded shorts weren’t really cutting it for the last 15 miles I’ve not really been able to sit any longer without being in excruciating pain
There we are fully charged put the light back on all right let’s pack up the bag right as long as I ride it reasonably probably on this assist to that should get me there without running out of power oh that’s acceleration of this new battery all right let’s get right in
I think that might have just been the last bit of uphill I’ve just crested oh my bum is so so sore [Applause] four miles at Inverness oh where are we right Inverness is here we are here it does say the 78 turns off and does something here but I really can’t be
Bothered to do that so I’m just going to follow this road straight down and then it saw a few kilometers left into Inverness oh let’s finish it off might as well just rinse the battery power right there the markers for the great Glenway it’s joined back up again so I’ve just got a
Finish it I have elected to uh put the bike on maximum power and just rinse the battery for the last little bit almost there where’s the end get in there you know what trying to find the end of this it’s so easy I think it is the castle
Of course it’s got a steep hill Why why it ends all begins right that is the end ometer on the bike is 76.8 mile and it’s 20 to midnight and I thought I’d get here I could record a nice little bit of film by the end kind of by myself and someone else has just arrived at the
Last second who’s just started his ride or finishing his ride so I booked a hotel so I’m gonna go find that catch up in a minute foreign I’m not bving or camping I’ve got a hotel ribbon Inverness so I’m honest I’m not too tired I’ve just got a really
Really sore bum if I’m honest with you however that has been loads of fun yes it’s not a long distance mountain bike but it’s worked quite well as one to do 76 miles today I did intend to do the great Glenway I ended up doing the Caledonia
Way instead yes I’m using an e-bike makes life easy I did rinse batteries I’m not insure the final amount but I think about five and a half batteries I ended up using or almost two entire power Banks and then those two batteries full to begin with I got a lot more
Distance out of it when I was on the B Road and the nice gravel then I would have I wouldn’t be able to complete if I did it on the great Glenway if you want to learn more about the myrider and maybe how it’s used in a more conventional settings for commuting but
I like it it folds in half it fits nicely in my van in the back corner speaking of my van I don’t really know how to get back to it because it’s in Fort William but if you want to find out more about the my rider or the my rider
GB3 which is this one particularly go check out the my Riders website thank you very much my rider for working together this has been a fun little time and I wanted to do this route for a while um I am actually I am a bit tired if you’ve liked this madness
Check out some of the other bits of Bob’s on my channel I do other things from taking my van up to the Arctic to just as a pirate once I made an electric boat Feel free to tell me what you think about this video in the comments maybe leave it a like subscribe I think I’ve already said that one if you want to see more of my stuff and thank you very much I’m gonna go get a point I’ll see you next time cheers bye

Sooo sick!!! The last thing I need to add onto my e-bike is solar panels.
Keep it up ! Box of frogs springs to mind š
Well done on completing it – love the challenges you do – always a great watch and a little different – looks like a great route (certainly the bits in the daylight š:)
Hope you got back to the van ok – have a lovely weekend, all the best, David š
Thanks for testing this, had my sights on something similar but those hills put me off. And how the Scots don't have a proper bike trail alongside the lake is beyond me, as lakeside won't have many hills.
11:15 I have a Thudbuster XL seatpost, wouldn't ride without one!
Brilliant adventure!! Great fun to watch, and I kinda knew you wouldn't stop until you completed your challenge. Well done, great stuff. š
Well done alex, are you keeping note of how many battery changes you have had and what is the kwph ??? have those bikes got regen braking ?? hows ur bum šš
Knew you had made it when you had 9 miles to go and a fresh battery, saddle sore is a pain figuratively and literally, lol, helps if you bike a few miles every day getting ready for the longer bike rides, plus no backpack, strap everything on the back.
"Loch Ness, you tit." ššš
To be fair, they're both big and watery with hilly bits on the side. š¤·āāļøš
Yaaarrrr!!!
doesn't south count as constantly going downhill, even if uphill bc it's down south despite gravity dragging us to the centre
Great two vids thanks!
Do you think the hotel would be OK with a full sized E Mountain Bike taken in the hotel?
Hi, just to say i found this very entertaining please keep up the content, have subscribed. Ps hope the old posterior has recovered š
Did you send the Cyrusher back? We have a couple of Kommodas (30kg monsters) it's almost cheating š
great test , but too short a range , I will stick with my much cheaper little folder that easy does over 100 miles on one battery without all the extra powerbanks lol , Fiido L3 Long Range Electric Bike , I was tempted with the one you are testing a while back when another van lifer recommended it but the price put me off .
Hi š
First time follow your YouTube channel dude I like and enjoy your video sharing š have fun and enjoy your day ok š take care dude
Excellent video, thanks! Wow! Who knew the Mirider was so capableš® i love the idea of bike packing in the Highlands…not sure which bike to get but with a setup like the one you used, the possibilities are endless…Scotland is so beautiful.ā¤
I felt tired watching so no e-bike for me!
great effort!!
Good show ole bean!
Worth a try for sure, lifes too boring without trying slightly mad stuff. I've wondered about carrying a power station for on the go charging so thanks for trying that. Ive got the carrera e folder and thats pretty decent and not expensive so might try a similar adventure!
All the best š
