I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Jack Keogh for Seek Travel Ride and have him share his experiences of racing last year’s Tour Divide. Some of you may recognise Jack – he made a documentary film which he released on YouTube, showing his experience.

When I watched it I was transfixed as it accurately depicted just what it’s like to race an ultra – and the documentary was equally well made. You could see the emotional rollercoaster involved and it was also clear Jack’s talents as a film maker certainly do not go to waste.

Jack was kind enough to agree to an interview and you can hear his full story out now on as episode 58 of Seek Travel Ride – available on all podcast players or directly here: [https://www.seektravelride.com/podcast-ep-58/](https://www.seektravelride.com/podcast-ep-58/)

During the episode we chat about how Jack first got into the sport and his first event – the Hunt 1000 in the Australian High Country. It’s interesting to see just how much his bikepacking setup changed from those early days with a front basked and cooler back on his Surly to lining up to the Tour Divide with his Hunt bike – even that is a crazy story as he arrived in the US but his bike did not!!!

Jack is also an accomplished thru-hiker having completed the Pacific Crest Trail in just 4 months! I could tell that all that experience combined served him well for the Tour Divide that is for sure.
