As shown in the pictures, I thought I found a rad spot to mount my pump (a leyzne pocket drive). Only problem is that I sometimes hit the back of the pump with my heel (I ride flat pedals), seems like the spot at the seat stays isn’t that awesome after all…
I could flip the pump mount to the inside though. Sadly, grabbing the pump would be a lot harder this way, kinda neglecting the advantage of frame mounting a pump.

But, wherever I decide to mount the pump, I can´t really wrap my head around the idea of leaving it out in the rain and mud. Especially when being out in the elemtens for weeks at a time.
Whats is your experience with frame mounted pumps? Any reliability issues? Even a liability in remote areas?
I would imagine servicing has to be done more often as well, or am I just too worried?

I mount my Lezyne mini floor to the downtube with the holder. I add a voile strap too. It gets janked up pretty good on sloppy rides so it requires some cleaning tlc. I prefer to stick it in a wolf tooth pump bag or frame bag when bikepacking or when I know it’s really going to be wet and muddy. It’s held up for two years so I think it’s pretty tough.
I had a Topeak road morph pump strapped to my top tube for 15,000 miles including riding for weeks on salt and sand with 100% sun exposure at 12,000ft elevation in the Bolivian Altiplano, strapped to the side of a sailboat crossing the Caribbean around the Darien Gap from Panama to Colombia, riding through mud and extreme humidity in the Amazon in Ecuador and Peru, etc. I still use it today, 8 years later. I took it apart and added some chain lube to the piston at one point but it’s still going.
