Hi all, in about 3 months I’ll be biking from AK to CA with my wife and I’m looking into getting a new helmet. I currently have a random helmet that was gifted to me from my in-laws and I’m looking into picking up some sort of mountain bike helmet that has MIPS. So far this helmet is what I might buy, and I’d love any feedback. I’m new to the bikepacking world so I’m looking for any advice y’all got.

If you’re just road, gravel, trail riding you don’t really need the full on protection that a downhill mtb helmet will provide. Downhill helmet will typically have fewer and smaller vents and be a lot heavier. For regular riding you want good ventilation to keep your head cool.
Forget about having your heart set on a particular brand or model, fit is the only real consideration you should be focusing on.
