idk if I’d go so far as to say I “disagree”, but they are definitely chaotic and complex to the point of being problematic where I’ve seen them implemented in some cases. I view it as a consequence of trying to cram too much into too little space. Eliminate car lanes and give each bike lane full width in either direction.

Putting a traffic cone at each end of the bike lane on each block helps.

I think they’re best if there’s one on each side of the street. Doesn’t matter if there’s nothing blocking trucks from coming in though

This could be solved by placing bollards in between the bike lanes wherever the protected sections start and end. That or raising the bike lane to sidewalk level.
