I am currently assembling a Stumpjumper Evo. The frame came bundled with a chain guide. The Eagle Transmission I installed has a bash guard attached.
Both won’t work together. What would you choose? Protecting the chain and cog? Or protect the chain from slipping off?
My old bike had neither and both things happened: A few occurrences of chain slipping off and a few hits by rocks.

Definitely bash guard is priority. And that one is also half a chain guide!
I’m on my second stumpy and ran a chain guide/bash guard combo on my old one. I have a transmission bash guard on the new one and it’s the obvious choice in my opinion. The old frame was killed due to an impact to the bash guard cracking the bottom bracket since the iscg tabs are right there.
