Yesterday while riding my bike I suddenly had the rear derailleur sucked into the cassette/spoke area. The derailleur was missing it’s pulley wheel and I was in the smallest gear. When I recovered the pulley wheel off the street it was pretty messed up.
Enough background though, the question I have is regarding my hanger. The frame is from 1992, so pre expendable hangers. The hanger is both bent and the derailleur actually caused it to snap on half. The frame is a trek 1000, a 6061 bonded aluminum frame. I am thinking of trying to realign the hanger itself and then rethreading the hanger to accept a t-nut. From there I could mount my derailleur. I am concerned with the split in the hanger though and would like to fix that as well.
Is the frame toast or can I save it?

Congratulations on your new single speed!
That hanger is beyond repair. Only solution would be to cut it off and have a new one welded on. Or just convert to a single speed or internal hub gears
Single speed time, aluminum doesn’t weld well like steel. Second option is to swap rear dropouts but it will be expensive and probably doesn’t worth investment.
