Hi good morning everyone thank you for coming to join me today um I’m just continuing this week or today with um Amy that’s crafty cat USA her 50 stack challenge hasht 4 um and this is a challenge that she’s doing where she draws two prompts a week so if you do

Every week you would end up with 50 pieces yes 50 pieces of ephemera um but you don’t have to do every week you dip in and dip out there are no rules you can make anything you want but the idea is that you use the prompts in some way

So this week her prompts are cat which is I made me smile because last week she had dog so cat and pink that’s the prompts for this week so I’ve had a little think about what I want to do and so let’s crack on and see

What we can do so for the pink um I’m using a couple of papers from different kits from um the paper Cameo and I’m using images and a couple of papers from her Valentine kit and then a couple of papers from her new high tea kit um I’ve

I’ve done a little bit of prep work I’ve cut this lady out and I’ve cut a flower out because I thought I might use them so they came from one of the Valentine papers I think I’m going to use the lady I’m not sure about the flower we will

See um I’ve cut uh cut I’ve printed another page from the Valentine kit and then I’ve printed a couple of papers from the high te kit so I’ve got some pink and different shades so what I thought I would do is what I’m trying to do in this challenge is make things that

I will use in future journals so I’m currently doing the um gringy wallpaper kit uh uh Journal or using Amy kits but I’m going to be using some of Nica from the paper Cameo kits um I think it’s called flora and floral Affair so it’s kind of Flowery so I

Thought I know this is Valentine but it’s nice and flowy so I could use it um so that’s my thoughts so before we start I need my scoreboard don’t I oh not organized folks not or organized sorry I thought I’ve got everything out that I needed isn’t that just

Typical so what I want to do is I want to make a pocket to go in the floral papers one moment sorry so I just wanted to to kind of show the papers that I’m going to be using next so these are from um Nica the paper Cameo and they’re all the florally

Ones so it’s it’s Flora floral Affair and and Flora I believe um and I’ve printed them out and I’m I’m kind of thinking about what I want to do so I thought I would make something that can go with that so I’m going to make this into a

Pocket that flips as well I think that’s what I’m going to try and do so I’m going to fold that down there I’ve made these before um I like to make them I think they’re nice in a journal they’re quite interactive um that bit will need to fold under so

I’m going to I might need to refold this but I’ll put the crease line in it for now okay and then what I’m going to do is that’s going to be a fold and that’s going to be on top as a um that’s going to be a pocket this

Side and then that’s going to flip so how wide is that H this is the bit that I always struggle with I want that to be a pocket so I want that to fold I don’t mind if this bit underneath is shorter so what

I’m going to do I’m just going to try it if it goes wrong it’ll end up being something else that’s going to be the front of the flip pocket and then that will fold back can’t quite get it sorry folks when is folding paper difficult when

You’re trying to do a video that’s when so it’s roughly going to be like that so that where do we have it that’s going to open up like that and that is going to be a tuck spot there and that’s going to be a pocket there that’s what I was trying to Fathom

Out and do so I’m going to need to Close close the pocket at the bottom and I want it to have um I don’t want it to be as tall is what I’m trying to think and hopefully it’s going to fit when I fold it it will just fit so I think that’s going to go beautifully and

It’s funny I picked this kit because it says the language of flowers and I’ve actually got a book called the language of flowers so that’s what encouraged me to use that anyway so this bit is going to be a pocket so let me make that into a pocket

So what am I going to need I need the tabs to close the pocket up don’t I so I’m going to use that one and that one I’m not going to use this one so I hope you’re all okay I know there’s a lot of cold weather about at

The moment um here in the UK I live in the Midlands in Nottingham um and this morning when we got up it was minus one but bright and sunny and I I have to say when it’s like that I like it I like the sunshine um if you can find a spot where

The Sun’s shining it’s beautiful and warm well in the sun um I know a lot of people are struggling with very cold weather at the moment and lots of snow I know Amy my friend Amy crafty cat um she’s in oh where do you live Amy my brain’s Switched Off where it’s

Cold it’s either Ida Iowa or Idaho and my brain’s just switched off am how bizarre well no it’s not bizarre my brain often switches off as soon as I switch the video on um my mom’s been to my sisters for a week so last week I had a week

Off without when I say a week off it’s it’s me that does all the appointments and things my sister does all the nice things you know you know how it goes um so mom’s back and she’s got saved all her appointments up so the next couple of weeks I’ve got lots of

Appointments ments with Mom coming up makes my husband laugh cuz it’s either he calls it Heads Shoulders Knees or toes because Mom she’s eight she’s what is she this year 88 this year but she has a nails done she has a nails done every month um she has a

Pedicure no I want that one Carol you want that one that’s because you’re talking stop talking while you while you flipping yeah she has nails done she has pedicures done she she uh she enjoys being pampered bless her and why not but of course it’s me that does all those appointments and

Then she has a doctor’s appointments and Hospital appointments and her ey appointments and it’s all good fun all good fun so where’s the top so this is the top of the pocket yeah yep so I want to strengthen that so I’m going to glue those I think it must be quite confusing

When I make things like this to new people because you do flip the papers around an awful lot um but if you think of this as just a tall pocket with a back pocket added it’s just a case of folding your papers and then thinking which bits you need

And which bits you don’t so really it’s it’s a trifold it’s folded three times sorry am I too high folded three times I want this to be the front it could quite as easily be that one and that could have been the front it doesn’t really matter personal

Preference and then that is going to glue onto that let’s close let’s strengthen the front of this that’s going to be the pocket on the underside already how is my glue paper gluey already when I’ve only just started I don’t know but I don’t want it gluey get rid get

Rid oh gold collapsing everything is collapsing I’ve just dropped my glue it’s probably covered in hairs now so come on Carol concentrate this is going to be the flip that’s going to be the pocket so I can I can close that and then it’s easier to see I think once you’ve got that

Done glueing very quiet while I’m gluing aren’t I and do I want to put a little notch in the top there probably okay so that is gluing on there so that is my front pocket do I need to be higher up sorry folks I’m still trying to get used to

Sitting at my desk um and I can’t quite see the camera it’s that little bit higher than than me um so that’s the pocket on the front and then that will open and then this will be a pocket at the side I’m just going to Ink that little

Bit so I’ve got a couple of flaps there but I’ll just glue it to the page or I could I could I could take that off there and put a little hinge on the back couldn’t I if I could pick that up someday things are so much harder than

Others the struggles real folks it really is sometimes oh I can’t even fold a piece of paper in half what are you doing Carol don’t know don’t know so that will go on there let’s glue that down and then that will just be a little flange a little hinge

So that when we glue it onto the page of the journal I hope it’s going to fit that would be annoying if I make it and it doesn’t fit wouldn’t it and I’ve done it a bit short but never mind it’s okay it’s not the end of the world

Honest so they will be the flaps that close that pocket so let’s just have a look where it would go in a journal so if I was to put it on that page which actually I like against that background this would flip up and that will be a pocket so if

That’s a pocket let’s just put a little Notch so that I remember when I come to put it in this journal so wrong wave so that’s the pocket that will glue on there that will be the flip I really like that so that I think I

Will put it on that page I know it’s Valentine paper um I don’t don’t think that matters I just want this journal to be full of flowers and spring like and bright you’re not bright colors but nice and summery so that’s where it’s going to go so hopefully you get the

Idea and then I would need to make a couple of tags now I was I was thinking of making a tag to go in this pocket but I wasn’t thinking I would also need one for that pocket um that’s the what it says Valentine as I

Say I didn’t want it to particularly be a valentiny type um pocket but what I was thinking was um I could put that on there and that could be a pocket in the side so I could do that and then that would go in there it

Doesn’t need to be a very wide pocket it does it where did I put my oh buried it how wide is that that’s only about 3 in so let’s do that let’s make that 3 in wide I can’t find a thing this morning let’s just cut all these I

Should have got this prepped before shouldn’t I but you can’t prep everything so this um d paper is from the high tea and I just I like that it’s got the the neutral background with the with the pink on it it’s not in your face it’s a lovely

Distressed kind of oh I didn’t say how tall I needed it did I no more than seven Ines no more than seven save that little bit because I might stamp on that later so that would be a pocket fitting in there that would work oh my

Goodness and then that I think I would want to offset it a little bit so that you get the flower or maybe a label so that’s what I’m going to do on there so this as I say was cut out from the one of the Valentine

Papers let’s get plenty your glue on it I know I’m not going to oh I do need to glue to the end because it’s oh dear started gluing at the wrong Edge never mind it doesn’t matter if I get glue on it it doesn’t matter I want that flat that

Leaf to be on but coming off there we go I like that as my glue scissors I think my next door neighbor’s moving his bins around he a bit early it’s not been day till tomorrow Sticky Fingers okay so that’s one tag that will go in

There I like that okay put that as side because it’s sticky and then I want a tag to go in in it so let’s just measure that so that is I’m going to say no more than three again I could go three and a quarter I’ll go three and a quarter I’m hoping

That this lady is actually going to fit I am let’s cut the white off the bottom let’s just see if it does fit before I go and decorate it it does and it goes to the bottom so it’s going to be too tall but I’ll cut that

Down when I’ve done now I want this lady on here isn’t she just beautiful I love these ladies Nicola does has quite a few of them and I think I’ve just had that ruler in my oh turned it upside down that’s why I couldn’t see it I’m going to cut

That and I’m just going to have a piece of this lace going down the edge with the lady and I think that looks beautiful I don’t know about you but I’m happy with that so let’s get that glued on sorry I’m trying to pile everything up at the side of me

Which of course then means it’s all liable to um collapse doesn’t it so that’s going to go on there on the edge I’m just wondering if I’ve got I don’t think I’ve got any pink labels that’s for sure I’m just thinking one moment back again Nicola does have a couple of labels

Um in some of the kits and I just remembered there was a pink one that I cut out so I think I will use that oopsie come here I think I’m going to use it at the top it’s kind of disappears behind a leg there or do I want it at the

Bottom I think I might put it there actually so it goes behind her leg because that’s going to be cut into a tag shape so I am going to put it just there glue glue glue and then I’m going to put this lady on as well oh look at that ballerina ballerina

Bear just as I’m gluing a ballerina I want to glue her carefully because I don’t want to lose her legs so I think this challenge um of Amis it’s the fourth obviously hasht four that means it’s the fourth one that she’s done um I’ve started the other

Ones but I never I got sidetracked and didn’t continue it but I am going to try and continue with this one and and actually it’s a really good way of building up I’m just trying to make sure while I’m talking to you that I’m getting that

Lady on I don’t want to lose her arms it’s a good way way of building up ephemera for future journals that you might want to make is that wonky if it is it’s tough because it’s glued down now so it is a good way sorry i’ still struggling with this cold it

Hasn’t gone so what I’m trying to say is this is a good way of building up ephemera for future journals and it’s always handy if you’ve got something that you can go to and of course they’ll you know if you’re making them they’ll be in your

Style so you can adapt a lot of them for journals that you’re making I like that here’s the pocket so obviously that would need backing but that would go in there like so I can cut a little bit more off of there I don’t want to take a lot

Off I don’t want it to be peeking too too far over the um sorry about that my husband’s just trying to order something on PayPal and they want to they want to send me um the phone code to the phone number and of course I’ve said I can’t stop I’m

Videoing oh dear there’s always something isn’t there that’s thrown me right so I’m GNA put these bits of fabric on because oops not that one you glued it down because I do want it to have tabs but I don’t want to fold them over obviously have I switched you back on

Yes oh all out of sorts now um so there we go so that is going to be in there and then that will go in there so that’s number one um and I will do a separate video of the um hashtag six um in just a moment so I’ll
