So I bought the roadlite 4 and it was delivered on last Friday. Super excited, and I spent 20 minutes assembling the bike. It was pretty easy, because all you need to do is to put the handlebar, the front wheel and two pedals. After pumping the tires I was so thrilled and ready to give it a ride.
Until I realized that I couldn’t even push it. Something got jammed.
I soon found out that the small gear next to the shifter (sorry but I don’t know the term and appreciate if you could specify that) was bent and deformed. It was bent so hard that the chain couldn’t even attach to the gear. I tried to hand twist the gear but it was not even possible to be changed.
What’s worse, the gear was behind the shifter so it was not likely damaged during transition. There was no scratch outside either. The only possibility I could think of, is that this damaged gear was installed along with the shifter. And no test was ever performed. Anyone can easily spot the issue by just pushing the bike forward.
I am in the process of contacting Canyon customer service and hope they will help fix the problem.
Was quite disappointed. People make mistakes, but this seems to be too obvious.

Can you post a photo of the rear mech (the shifting mechanism attached to the rear wheel) directly from behind, so we can have a better view of what happened?
And yes, contact Canyon: they may offer you some compensation and/or new parts for a bike shop to fit for you.
Looks like the rear wheel was not installed correctly.
The chain is supposed to around the backside of sprockets on the rear wheel.

It’s really hard to see it on photo. But basically the sprocket and the metal piece attached to the sprocket were bent toward the wheel, so the chain couldn’t attached to it (even I forced to attach the chain onto it, it fell off quickly).
