Well, maybe not quite, but here’s [a credible argument](https://lazytrips.com/blog/highest-roads-in-the-world) that this is the highest driveable road in the world. I did this ride in early January. Here’s a photo I took of the volcano…the bikeable road goes up to 18,900 feet in the the saddle between the two peaks:

After reaching the end of the road, I hiked to the summit (the peak on the right in the photo) at 19,700 feet. The road was very sandy and rocky, and even though I had MTB gearing and 50mm tires on my gravel bike, I tipped over a few times.

It has been discovered in the last 20-30 years that Uturuncu has super-volcanic potential, so hopefully I didn’t make it angry.
