The final few hours of my hike around the coast of the Isle of Wight. I was woken up by dog walkers before dawn on Priory Bay. Sleepily I moved my bivvy away from the beach and onto a wall where I had breakfast (flapjack and bananas) and heading off around the final 10 miles (which felt like a few more, so my calculations may have been wrong) to West Cowes.
#isleofwight #coast #england
Good morning everybody today is the last day of the is of coast is of Coast oh I haven’t woken up yet try that again good morning everybody today is the last day of the Isle of white Coastal hike I haven’t quite packed away my stuff yet um it’s over
Here um so there’s a couple of dog walkers that came along this morning so I had to uh move my bivvy I’ve literally just lifted it from where it was and P it over here and uh you can see where it was that patch there uh bit fresh this morning not too
Bad not too cold uh bit Misty bit cloudy so I’m not going to get an amazing Sunrise unfortunately which would have been great because it would have been over there over the city of Portsmouth would have been fantastic but never mind I got woken up by a couple of dog walkers this
Morning hence the quick removal of the bivvy over to the wall uh where I’m going to get unpacked have a bit of breakfast and then we’re going to walk these last 10 miles at the end of the AR white Coastal hike I still can’t get over how amazing this beach
Is okay so I’m all packed up everything is covered in sand just been uh watching some red squirrels up here unfortunately wasn’t quick enough to catch them on the camera did put a bit of Flapjack down for them but they haven’t come down to get it um seeing the red squirrels made
Me think maybe that was what the noise was just outside my bivy last night cuz there was loads of scratching going on um woke me up at one point um but I’ve seen something else which is probably more likely what it was this little afro pod thing here there’s so many bugs
Around here and I’ve been bitten all over by the my mosquito as I said everything is covered in sand the interior of the bag as well but it’s the last day today so I can just Chuck it all in a wash when I get home right here we go it’s half 7 time
To finish the walk ties in a bit further than yesterday so looks like we’ll have to do some rock climbing another flag quiz for you guys what one is this I have no idea there that one and then there’s this one as well again I have no
Idea perhaps something to do with the ID of white we’re now at the northeastern most point of the aisle the Old Fort PB looking out to horand Fort there I’ll just zoom in and then you got Portsmouth on the left so from here on out we will be heading west towards
Cows this where as the south coast of the white is all rolling Cliffs the North Coast is very different very flat if it continues like this it will not take us long to get to cows casually taking a dog for a walk from the PJs oh hello
Doggy 1,500 quid and this little baby is yours right so I’ve been looking on Google I’ve looked for some information here but I cannot find out what this building is so someone could let me know in the comments that’ be great got some information here about a boat HMS serus
Which uh sail to Australia from the mother Bank just off this Shore and this is the principal Naval consort for the First Fleet which arrived in Sydney Australia in 1788 there she is so we’re just coming into Ride Now ride is the largest town on the is white
Just over there is the pierhead that’s the quickest way to get over to the mainland on the uh the hovercat over to South Sea and then there’s a town this side obviously but uh we won’t have time to see all of that but what I do want to
See is the train station the island line it starts at the end of ride pier and then uh goes all the way down to Shanklin through the island so see if we can find that All right guys I’m on the foot Bridge from the hoverport and going over to ride Esplanade station which goes up to ride pierhead so I’ve got 20 minutes for the next train so I’m going to come back in 20 minutes and uh we’ll record one of the uh chooo coming from
Through so there is a walkway we can walk right down to the end of the pier but apparently it’s not worth it it’s uh not much to see when you get down there let’s see if the will give us a toot on the horn no no just a wave without
Do and while I’m here while I was waiting I saw something really strange look padlock Leslie and Steve that’s uh my mom and dad’s names so if they’ve made a secret trip over here without telling me this year or that’s just a mad coincidence I don’t know just walking through the very
Pleasant back streets of ride now I do Wonder for an island that um that has its main industry is tourism how people uh pay for these houses what do these people do well finally I managed to catch a red squirrel on camera for you guys still live wouldn’t it yeah be
Right wouldn’t it yeah just a couple of million I reckon So here on the idland white people can actually own beaches so a lot of houses have their own private beaches which I’m assuming is the reason that we haven’t seen much Coastline for quite a while not since ride so in fishborn now this is another spot
Where you can get the boat over to the mainland over the coastal Trail continues up this way just got very Suburban F to it up here on the north of the island oh that’s nice isn’t it help yourself to the fresh apples from the garden they shop at weight Ros they can
Afford to give them away behind that fence there is Osborne house Queen Victoria’s summer Retreat and the place of her death in 1901 I don’t know if we’re going to get a peek at it so this is the architectural style of the uh house Italian and it’s all the way up
There yeah we’ll give we’ll give that a miss another day perhaps besides which there’s uh police dogs training in this area don’t going to get eaten by police dogs today there is the day Trippers Coach Tours right onwards to East cows well this isn’t good guys this
Could be a spanner in the works The Floating Bridge ser this is suspended we need to use The Floating Bridge to get from East cows to westcow where we finish we need to use the jeez we need to use The Floating Bridge service to get from East cows to
West cows where we finish the walk The white Coastal path completed it mate 72 hours after we arrived at 12:00 on Friday it’s now 12:00 on Monday and our boat is coming in to take us back to Southampton I’ve got to make a dash to get on it so it won’t be a long outro
I’m summarize will walk a bit better when I get home I’ll see you guys soon the a of white is often described as England in miniature I would describe it more as How England used to be there’s communal Pride on the island people are friendly the streets are clean the goods are
Quality as for the walking well despite long stretches of Road and a lot of time away from the coast some sections were truly stunning I’d recommend the is white coaster path and the island generally to Anybody

Well done Matt, what a mission! I've got behind on my YouTube channels because I've had such a hectic week 😮 Nothing more unnerving than something scratching near your tent in the night. I camped at Cowslip Green near Bristol after a concert pre Covid. In the middle of the night something kind of fell on my tent and was scratching it, frightened the hell out of me, and something (or more likely someone) opened the door of my friends camper van where she was sleeping with her friend. I think she thought it was me! The man whose partner ran the campsite had warned us about foxes the day before 🤔 I hope the squirrels enjoyed their flapjack ☺️ I don't know why but I thought red squirrels were only in Scotland. We had black squirrels where I grew up but I only ever saw one once and some muntjac deers very early in the morning on the way to the airport. Aw your ma and pa had a secret holiday without telling you! Mine used to do sneaky things like renewing their vows without telling us. Pass on the flag. Did anyone else know? I always look at big houses and think that especially some of the huge houses on the Gower. I reckon the people who own these houses must work as doctors, lawyers or businessmen, or maybe they've inherited property. Either that or they're criminals 🤷♀️ Well done for finishing another epic walk! I hope you had a nice 😴 when you got home, although you seem to be able to sleep soundly anywhere!
Wow amazing place

Buongiorno, Matt.
Hai bisogno del caffè Starbucks?
Sorpresa! Nemmeno tu riuscivi a capire cosa fossero le bandiere.
Secondo Google, quello rosso è lo stemma reale norvegese.
Cosa intendi con dirigersi verso ovest verso le "mucche"? 3:46
Quanto vale quella barca a vela in dollari americani? 4:17 non è di mio gusto però
wowo, il cielo è stranamente bello 5:02
wow Matt. sussurrandomi di nuovo alle orecchie? 12:10 Vista sorprendente, tu e il tramonto come se stessi guardando il canale NG.
Finale meraviglioso. Niente birre?

The final stretch of your Isle of Wight journey was truly captivating! 🌅 The sunrise at Priory Bay must have been magical, despite the early wake-up call from dog walkers. 🐕 Your decision to move the bivvy to the wall sounds like a cozy choice. The entire hike showcased the charm of the Isle of Wight, and the coastal views were breathtaking. 🏞 Thanks for taking us along on this memorable adventure! Looking forward to more of your incredible journeys, Matt! 🚶♂✨

72 hours to walk 70 miles? Very cool series, binged watched all 4 tonight. Thanx for showing us so much of the trail. Really good.
Watched all four Videos🙏Thankyou for filming this, as an Islander/Caulkhead i am very impressed with your footage, You help promote our isle👍😊
Once again plenty of interest on your route. There have been several parts of the route I would like to explore myself while my legs still work. Osborne House is worth a look on another visit. It is really well presented. That flag of the double headed eagle on a white background looks to be associated with the old Hapsburg Monarchy in pre-WW1 Austria. The shield features on the old Imperial coat of arms and the upper crown looks to be the Imperial Crown of Austria the official crown of Austria after 1804 when the Holy Roman Empire was dissolved. It had been a personal crown of the Emperors before that. Usually though the Imperial flags were on a gold background. There were very many variations though. I feel sure I have seen this version somewhere but not sure where. It could have been a version made for tourists though rather than official. Not sure but intrigued as the middle of Europe as been an area that interested me since school.
