Maybe I’m missing something but do they not include info on the components?

I saw a note that depending on availability they may swap out drivetrain and/or brakes, which seems a little odd without specifying what they’d be swapped for. Giant does something similar but they note that they’ll be swapped for equal or greater value.

Generally speaking $2k for a full suspension bike with Fox shocks from a reputable brand like Canyon is a pretty fair price assuming the components are average or better.

Edit: looks like SRAM NX eagle, which is a decent group set. I’d say $2k is about fair.

The Denver Craigslist ads for MTB are some of the best in the world. Lawyers and dentists upgrading every six months as yeti brings out a new color or adds a letter.
I would shop for a used rig there. You will be able to ride the bike before you buy it.

  3. I’ve had the neuron 7 for a few weeks and it’s been great! Climbs well and handles my local trails. Only thing I wasn’t keen on was the tyres is shipped with, they’re not really suited to the year round mud we have in the Uk. I imagine they’d be good for hard pack though.

I have the 2022 version of this bike and it’s solid. Mine has a slightly steeper head tube angle (67 degrees vs 66 degrees in new version). Came with Slx instead of nx, so can’t comment there. They upgraded the brakes to Hayes dominion a4 which are amazing.

To the other commenters points though, I would try and buy locally used if you can. Do you have a friend that could come help you test ride? Ideally just find a lightly ridden used bike no more than a year or two old.

  5. I’m looking in this budget, too! Great price for the new 2023 model of the Neuron 6. However, The Polygon Siskiu T8 is also on sale, for $100 less!

The bikes seem very similar, but with some differences. The Polygon has a superior Shimano SLX compared to the SRAM Eagle. But the brakeset of the Canyon is arguably better. I also love the paint job on the T8.

    Agh!

Preference between the T8 and the Neuron 6 at the same price?
