I don’t/can’t do barspins so everything I’m about to say is wearing a big name badge that says “I’m a clueless dick”. But just watching it, to my eyes, you’re being way too large with your arm movements. It looks like you’re throwing the front of bike away and then your arms go right up in the air.
Isn’t it more of a controlled flick type movement than a big expressive throw?

Nice one man! You’re holding on too long, that’s where you’re going wrong. Next time you go riding try to ‘throw’ a bit more so by the time your right hand has moved to the 90° point you’ve already let go. A bit more seat post won’t hurt just while you’re getting over the fear of throwing them, will keep the bike a bit more stable and straight beneath you! Scary trick to commit to for the first time though so massive fair play, you’ve got the hardest bit out the way now!
