Felt VR 40 for $1800 or Domane AL 4 for $2000? (First bike)

Hello, deciding between two different bikes at two different shops and would love some quick insight or advice.

The link is for the VR 40, which the sales guy told me he could do for $1800.

At a separate store, there’s a Domane AL 4 which I really liked at $2000.

For anyone more familiar with bikes and specs than I am, does one jump out as a substantially better deal?

I’m mostly thinking to use it for road riding, city adventuring, commuting, but do want the versatility to take a dirt shortcut for instance. Not eager to ride on gravel roads but once in a blue moon if necessary.
