V brake question

That is a very old bike from the 1980s before brake posts became standardized.

You would need a brake that doesn’t use those holes. Unfortunately, Paul motolites ($$$) are the only modern v brakes that dont use the holes.

If you still have the old canti brakes, you may want to keep those, or there are some vintage DiaCompe canti brakes that would work for this scenario

ImprovePart doesn’t really show the brake spring on the V-brake but they do on the canti version and it is likely the same and doesn’t need spring holes on the frame.
