Hello can you tell me what’s happened he’s just come around the corner and collapsed on the floor what do you mean by collapsed make he’s just at the deck just killed over okay did he lose Consciousness he he’s not looking good he been stabbed it looks like he’s been
Stabbed on the 17th of October 2017 15-year-old Kiren Webb was stabbed in a brutal and unprovoked attack she was like k k was like what what you know she just was bring like it’s Kyra the blood from that basically just uh flooded the cavitate and suffocated I
Was thinking all SS I was thinking oh my God like is he okay what’s going to happen like is it going to come back alive just give me a miracle any Miracle Kiron died 3 days later my initial thoughts were that is called blooded murder and it was quite brutal I heard
Someone screaming it was only when she touched my arm that kind of brought me back into the moment I realized I was the one screaming and it was me it’s just sad there’s nothing you can do about it is there some of the teenagers who armed themselves for their own protections
They would say don’t understand the consequences of sticking a knife into someone 15-year-old Kiren Webb was stabbed and killed by 17-year-old Michael Idan it’s just all over and of what did they do it for I would love to sit down with him and just say what made you do
That in my mind I’d created this image of a monster and it wasn’t a monster it was a little boy Defenders are they born or are they made is it in their nature to commit crime or is it how they’ve been nurtured how they’ve been brought up
Kiren Webb grew up in sdam a quiet suburb of Southeast London with his mom dad and older brother Ricardo he was just so loving he had the most cutest voice that you don’t want them to ever lose that little childhood voice you just want to take loads of
Images and video clips of him just talking he absolutely loved art his teacher told me that K is to help them design the props and things that their school plays in in infant school he used to love to sing and he used to love to dance he made a big impression wherever he
Went he was extremely close to his dad’s but when I was lucky when his dad wasn’t around then it was all about me and so I got all the hugs when kyum was four his parents split up and shortly afterwards his dad moved to Manchester we separated but separated very amicably um the
Relationship between the two of us was really good we had good communication channels and obviously he maintained relationship with the boys and they would go and spend like a couple of weeks a year down in Manchester with him and sometimes he would come to London to
Come and visit them and take them out and things like that but age 10 Kiren was Finding School increasingly difficult he had a few little issues in Primary School nothing too major then he went to Secondary School everything started to change there was just behavioral incidences at school it was
Always sort of low-level disruptive behaviors he just didn’t seem to be able to cope well in that classroom environment he was quite unsettled within himself kiran’s behavioral issues worsened it was always lowlevel disruption and it just kind of stayed like that until he um ended up they took
Him out of mainstream as well as problems at school Rachel had another concern for her son youth violence in the local area was around 2015 a young boy that used to go to their infant school had been stabbed and killed in syum and it was quite worrying just
Because it was in syum so I kind of got more overprotective than normal and I didn’t really want them going out I didn’t really want them going anywhere with difficulties at school and issues out on the streets Rachel was deeply concerned about her youngest son so when
Kiron first suggested going to live with his dad it’s a change of environment change of scenery I didn’t know much about Manchester and I just thought Manchester was going to be this nice quiet little place it was a little Countryside kirn’s mom hoped the change of scene would turn his life
Around you knew that this was what he wanted and it was going to be a new Fresh Start so in Spring 2016 when Kiren was 13 he moved into his dad’s place in moson Northeast Manchester I think it’s never easy to say goodbye at all and I think it’s
Worse especially because we’ve had all these behaviors you know there’s been heated discussions there’s been angry words there’s been disagreement that in itself was hard Kiren started at Manchester communication Academy when KY first came to the school I thought yeah he was just quiet when I
First spoke to him I said like oh where do you live and then I found out you’re going to corner from me so it was all right so F yeah he came my house straight away actually so I introduced him to Tyro I thought it was very nice I told
Him that he’s got a nice accent he used to go to each of’s house is really we went to his house chilled there stuff he’ll just keep himself to himself you know and yeah that was about it cuz like after school like say he just be with us
And you know we just chill at mine and you know play FIFA same old stuff they spent their time playing video games and making up rap songs was just deadly back didn’t really speak when I was there cuz I think he was a bit shy but you could hear him once he
Was inside ‘s bedroom like Al they do with the rap music the songs and that it may not have been the rural Paradise Rachel had imagined but it did seemed to be a change for the better 3 months into Kiron being there that was the best decision I ever made
And you saw a massive changing kir and he had he came back he had grown so tall so at all he was big his dad had fed him up he had a pouch on him he was just my son again you know as he knocked on the door and open the door
He ran into my arms mom there was no disruption there was no isolations there was no exclusions there was no behavioral issues his school report was fine kirn’s mom was looking at the kinds of violence that was surrounding him in the States and streets of inner city
London to get him into Manchester was the right move and indeed everything suggests that he initially responded very positively to what was happening to him in Manchester Kiren was beginning to think about the future he didn’t really know what he wanted to be when he was older so I
Actually already knew what I wanted to be which was an architect so I explained to him what the job war was like and what you do and he was interested in it he wanted to be one himself he’ done his research so he knew he he would need to do seven years in
University the main thing for Ken was that’s what he knew he wanted to do that’s what he was doing that’s what he was working towards but it was a dream he would never fulfill a few streets away from kiran’s Dad’s place was scarra Street where Michael Idan lived with his mom dad and
Older brother the 17-year-old studied at the local six form College Idan had three convictions for knife crime and was currently serving a 12 month youth rehabilitation order knife crime is an issue in Manchester on the basis that it is nationally knif crime across the country
Is on a rise and we need to understand why people in the community feel the need to carry knives and use knives as as part of you know criminality really like Kiren Idan was also into music and spent time writing lyrics and making videos for a more hardcore rap music
Drill drill music lyrics have a reputation for using violent and aggressive imagery whilst I understand that music’s really important for the Youth and the teenagers and it’s it’s a good bond for people I think sometimes youve got to understand what the focus is of that music what the message is they’re
Talking about knives and stabbing people that’s the culture and that’s the language that they’re talking on a regular basis there is some evidence that consuming violent images or listening to rap music or drill music which makes threats against other young people does for some young people cause them to be aggressive
In the real world but only if they have been predisposed to be aggressive beforehand in the summer of 2017 while kirm was spending the summer holidays back in London Idan was making a video featuring lines about knives and stabbing or Shanks and Chefing Idan posted the video online and waited for likes and comments from his peer group one morning I was going to school and my friend messaged me and said um have you seen this music video so I was like no what is it so she sent
It me and she told me obviously and with what they said in it so I was like wow I didn’t even know what to say about that in September Kiren went back to his dad’s house to start the new school year he was due to take his
Gcses but when he returned he was unsettled in the September there had been an incident at school and the school had said to me that kirn had just turned up to school around 9:00 a.m. and he appeared to be under the influence of cannabis but he wouldn’t allow them to
Search him so they said that the police would come in and I believe the police came to school so he was excluded and sent home and that’s where it all began that was the first indication that something was wrong Kiren used social media app Snapchat to speak to friends which
Automatically deletes messages and it was unclear whether he was now getting in with the wrong crowd when his mom tried to find out what was going on she met with a brick wall I knew there was something wrong and I saying to him what’s going on he was
Saying mom you wouldn’t understand so I said to him well try me I said because you got to remember is I was a kid once you know I’ve already done the teenagers I don’t think there’s anything he would have said that would have shocked me but he he just wouldn’t
Say Kiren was excluded from school he found himself isolated from his friends while they were busy studying he got in a bit of trouble um and he did get kicked out for a bit um he did want to come back though then on the morning of October
17th Rachel got a text message from her son I wish I never came to Manchester I hate it here so I called him do you think that I’ve let have I Let You Down by agreeing to send you to Manchester so he’s like no no no no no you haven’t let me down
You’re almost over it’s October you’re coming home next week for the half term when you get back it’s just revision isn’t it you’re going to be be doing your exams in June once you’ve got your GCS se’s done that’s it like I’m bringing you back to London you never
Have to go back down again if you don’t want to on Tuesday the 17th of October kyum was at home his mom founded him at 1:00 and we started talking about him coming home at the end of the week and we were going to decorate his bedroom
And so we were deciding on the colors and the last thing he said is I love you I told him I’m very proud of him and I said I’ll pick you up soon I said don’t worry I got you then obviously as you know the day didn’t end with kirn’s eyes
Open last time I saw Kiron I seen him through um a bedroom window actually and it was cuz I said where you going and and he just said him I’m going to get my hair done cuz he already hair about in little afro he ate it out he always had
To go get it pled I seen him the day actually died I was stood net behind the shops in was Lane and um I’ve seen him walking up towards obviously where he died when I was with my mates that was last time I seen him any Kiron spent
Most of the afternoon in his room but at around 7:00 p.m. he went out and met two boys on the street nearby one was Michael Idan it appears there was some sort of disagreement words were said and from seemingly nowhere Michael Idan pulled out a knife and stabbed Kiron in the chest
Kiron mortally injured staggered backwards and propped himself up against a Wall Idan and his accomplice left but came back a few minutes later and Idan stabbed him again this time in the back kirant fell in the Street bleeding Profusely oh my God he he’s just come around the corner and collapsed on the floor what do you mean by collapse he’s making he just at the deck just killed over okay did he lose Consciousness is he not looking good it’s been stabbed it looks like it’s been stabbed in London
Kiran’s mom Rachel was watching a music show on TV completely unaware of the tragedy unfolding 200 miles away way so I was there in my moment had my dressing gown on cheesy chips and beans I was singing my heart out I remember just feeling so chilled so happy I was just
In a moment and then my phone went it was her oldest son so I picked it up he said oh Mom ring Dad K is in trouble and I said oh what’s he done then he said the dad’s partner called told him to tell me to call something that’s never ever
Happened before I quickly rang so I sat up Rachel called her ex partner I heard a scream first of all which made the walls just Spin and my heart just start to really really beat and I got nervous so I said it hello and the first Bo says kyon’s
Dead unknown to Rachel Kiron was in fact still alive but waiting for his life in intensive care and then there was like this pop in my head I couldn’t hear anything at all I could see the numbers ticking so I knew I was on a live call but when I
Looked at the TV I saw the lips moving but I couldn’t hear any sound and so I didn’t know what was it was it was too surreal I didn’t really know what was so I was just sitting there staring so I put the phame back to my
Ears and he just kept saying K’s he said they stabbed him up they stabbed him up kyon’s dead I said where is is he they said he’s at Manchester Royal infirmary kiran’s mom got to the hospital 3 hours later there was two plain closed police officers a male and a female waiting for
Me outside she says to me that K’s been stabbed and I said where ised his heart and then I couldn’t hear anymore I heard someone screaming it was only to when she touched my arm that kind of brought me back into the moment I realized I was the one screaming and it was
Me in the hospital the medical staff would desperately trying to stem the flow of blood and stabilize kirn there was a doctor he was letting me know that they were working on Kiren in theater that um he believed that kir only had 1% chance of survival they just could not stop the
Bleeding my brain’s screaming at me I don’t really know what to do I can’t absorb what is going on it’s just it’s too big I remember going into to the family room and his dad was there with his partner their eyes was like bloodshot red their skin looked ashing
And dry I was looking around thinking what’s going on in took us into ICU I just heard this beeping noise I remember walking over to him silently and I said to him you know babes just all I need you to do is just wake up and
When you wake up I promise I’m going to take you home and you are never going to come back to this place I must have told him I loved him about a thousand times I apologized to him another thousand times I was talking to him I was singing
To him absolutely no response no nothing in M news of a stabbing quickly spread I mentioned it to my brother like someone’s been stabbed must laying like we don’t know who it is like and I said to where I ever feeling like I feel like we know who it
Is but I remember hearing about it a me mate was sat downstairs and I’m like wonder who it is like I bet we know it like cuz there was no names about there we just got told he was a stabing like a couple hours after that I got messages
Off his big brother Ricardo and he was just saying do you know anyone who wanted to hurt kirn so I was like no like what’s happened and he told me that K’s on life support machine she was like KY kyn I was like what what she just was crying like it’s
Kyra I’m like what I was thinking oh my God like is he okay what’s going to happen and I just felt physically sick I remember cuz I was making tick and I was starving and I just couldn’t eat it none of us could eat is it going to come back
Alive like I was thinking all sorts to be honest I was praying cuz I got told he was on a life support was praying in the head that he p through on Wednesday morning detective inspector Stuart Wilkinson the senior investigating officer with the major incident team was given the
Case what I was told was that a 15-year-old lad had been stabbed and although he wasn’t dead at that time basically the medical assessment was it was only a matter of time and it was a fatal blow that he had received even though Kym was still alive Stuart instigated a murder
Inquiry the CCTV was the main focus to start with that was the liftoff Point really for us to start tracking The Killers uh we have a dedicated uh CCTV team who will basically follow the trails so we’re constantly then doing a full troll of all the cameras in the
Area to try and track uh where the killers go until obviously the trailer runs dry but uh uh that was was you know was quite key that we actually got caught the murder on the on the CCTV it was caught on a house camera right next to the scene of The Killing
And it showed a brutal act and I have to say my initial thoughts were that is called blooded murder and it was quite brutal to watch a 15-year-old lad get stabbed in the chest clearly suffer and prop himself up against the wall whilst he was struggling with his injuries and then
For 30 seconds later the attackers to return and then deliver a second blow with the knife in the back of him that was quite callous I thought that was immediate thoughts as the killer turns to get away the murder weapon can clearly be seen a large knife with a lengthy
Blade when we had the scene carded off we had a number of officers in this area doing host to host and various inquiries that’s where the CCTV is key not only to to uh trace the trail of the uh the actual offenders but to see if they
Actually dispose of weapons or any other clothing or anything like that which will help us identify them and Link them to the actual murder we did extensive search with specialized search teams but uh we never actually found the Weapon while the CCTV team painstakingly pieced together the killer movements Stuart wilin and tried to form a picture of the victim didn’t have much in our police systems he wasn’t from our area so it was a case of uh trying to understand exactly who Karen was uh who his
Contacts Associates were and building up a picture of why he’s got himself in a situation where he’s been attacked what could possibly have happened to turn a casual looking meeting on a street into a brutal murder back at the Manchester Royal infirmary kyum was still on life support
I prayed I don’t think I’ve prayed so hard I don’t think I’ve prayed so long it was just that continuous just praying praying praying praying praying praying praying like just give me a miracle any Miracle give me anything but the prognosis was not good he said that he would not be the son
That I knew because he had gone a long time without oxygen to his brain kiran’s heart had stopped beating for over 40 minutes at the roadside I just want him to come home even when a doctor said um he would probably be severely brain my sister I don’t care at
That point I was actually managing homes for adults with learning disabilities this is my job I can take care of my son that’s not an issue Chief investigating officer Stuart Wilkinson went to meet kiran’s family at the hospital all murder investigations are trying to see the family in the first
Two or 3 days he want to no an straight away uh it’s unfortunate that uh I don’t have often have those answers on those first meetings because the investigation is in the early stages it was so much for me to take in but they told me every
Bit back at the investigation the CCTV team were making good progress what was quite key I think it was a day in the investigation that there were two figures on a piece of footage in the distance that just saw two people running across uh the main road at the time
Frame they were running to scabber Street which is a cuac So based on the fact that the these could be the two offenders um we did the painstaking job there’s 34 houses we did full intelligence searches if the killers didn’t live there then clearly an associate or a friend could
Do which means then we’ve got a line of inquiry to then follow and try and find those The Killers When the officers visited the houses in scar Street they discovered a person of interest living there one of the uh the detectives on the on the team uh found an address with
Michael Idan link to it Michael had previous for knife crime clearly that was an obvious interest to us got someone who carries knives prepared to commit crimes with knives and the name prompted another Discovery as we start talking about this person Michael the detective who had been on the scene and doing inquiries
Around Monon said well that man had approached me that lad had approached me the day before making inquiries Idan had visited the scene of the crime that’s not uncommon for the offenders or they’ll get friends to go and ask a police officer to at the scene
To just inquire what’s going on to see what information he can gather just to see exactly what’s known thankfully for us the detective took the details that was quite key for us in the end to raise Michael as a suspect for the murder he returns to the scene of the
Murder to ask people at the scene about what they know this is because this is the first time he’s begun to realize that the rewards of carrying the KN are actually beginning to be outweighed by the risks of what he’s done and therefore he’s trying to work out
Himself what do they know am I connected to this particular crime am I going to be able to escape and evade Justice and looking at phone records they could see that Kiren knew the suspect now all of a sudden this picture in the space of 20 minutes sort of came
Together that Michael idun is a man we really need to speak to we just got the Breakthrough we needed and and it it was a good feeling to know that right we’ve got a good line of inquiry the investigation team were ready to make arrests Michael Idan and
His accomplice who can’t be named for legal reasons that night we got some warrants issued and the morning after we did some early morning warrants and arrested him and Others at the hospital kiran’s condition sadly hadn’t improved obviously the doctor told us that Kiren wasn’t responding to treatment and they opened his eyes and they sha the light his pup was just fix dilated and then they had asked about turning off the life support machine looking at him in a vegetative
State is this really in kirin’s best interest and can I sit in this hospital for the rest of my life and not leave not really so I remember standing up and I just said do it and then I couldn’t breathe I can’t think of anything more devastating to have one make the
Decision and then just sit next to your child and watch them die it must be absolutely heartbreaking and under the circumstances of this particular death where it’s been so sudden needless and ruthless and uh it just must be actually awful for Everybody I laid my head on his chest and I allowed the show real of his life to just play in my head I saw him being born dribble I heard I heard him laughing I saw him dancing I saw him singing every Christmas present I was getting bolded over with hugs every
Birthday every moment every memory everything I could think of was just there was just going going going going going and then this big boom boom on my face and it was his heart I just felt it but I only felt three beats and then the sure it was the organ donor lady said
He’s gone I messaged Ricardo his big brother and I asked that as he passed away like what’s happened and he he told me that he had passed away I just started crying I went downstairs I told my mom that he passed away s I just I don’t know it just didn’t
Feel real so like even though i’ been told the information I just still it just didn’t feel real I didn’t believe it really detective inspector Stuart Wilkinson had arrested local teenager Michael Idan earlier in the day on suspicion of attempted murder so that’s when we have to go and tell Michael that
He’s now under arrest on suspicion of murder and that Karn is dead Idan was taken to the interview room yeah when Michael’s arrested he was uh interviewed three times in police custody uh the first interview uh he completely denied uh being involved denied the murder he said he was at home watching a
Manchester City game when he was arrested officers obviously spoke with uh his parents Mom and Dad just to find out exactly what his movements were on that night and they provided an account to show that um Michael wasn’t in for the football match he was out and about at the right time
Of the murder so Idan was interviewed again this time he made an explosive admission I think he reth thought his position especially with the CCTV where he then admitted yes he was the person on CCTV and he had murdered kyum 5 days after the murder Idan took responsibility for the killing but
Protested that he acted in self-defense idan’s story was that he and Kiren had an argument over social media and were meeting to settle their differences Idan claimed that Kiren had insulted the rap video he posted in the summer well the form of communication between Karen and Michael was through
Snapchat which is an internet-based social uh Media Forum it leaves no trace it get deleted within s a certain time so whilst we can see activity on the phone we can actually see what’s been said and Idan claimed Kiron was threatening him with a knife he felt he
Needed to react in self-defense I have to say Michael’s account does not stand scrutiny with the CCTV and at no point do we actually see Karen holding a knife a knife was found however in kiran’s bag we didn’t understand why he carried a knife and what his intention
Was to do with that knife when he went to meet up with Michael and his accomplice and clearly when Michael said that he’d been threatened that was something for us to really consider there was still so much unknown you know so I Was preparing myself because they might start revealing information to me
About kir and there might be a side of kir that I’m not aware about and it might not be information that’s I’m going to be easy to hear when we scrutinized the CCTV in fine grain but at no point did I see actually car and get the one the knife
Out of his bag this little 13 and a half year old that would never ever have carried a weapon I’ve sent him somewhere and he was either so scared or so caught up in something and he’s felt that he’s got no other choice but to walk with
This man and that is all I thought Idan was interviewed for a third time and he came up with yet another explanation that’s when Michael again changed his story to say that it was the purchase of drugs which is why Karen had met up uh but the reality is uh he
Changed his story many times that just does not stand scrutiny with what the CCTV shows us one of the things that Idan tries to do when he is arrested by the police is blame Kiren for the event I think what this simply shows is the immaturity of
Idan himself he’s trying to put all the blame on to the younger man who actually ends up dead and remember Idan is older has already been convicted of previous um offenses so the idea that somehow somebody who’s younger and who hasn’t been uh convicted of previous offenses
Is actually the driver of the crime is pretty ludicrous Idan wasn’t the only person being questioned his accomplice the other boy who can be seen on the CCTV footage was also in police custody we arrested his accomplice who again accepted that they were part on parcel
Of that argument on the night on the CCTV but as the accomplice didn’t inflict any blows it was Idan who was in the frame for murder but really for us it was just a case of building the file working with the CPS and the qc’s to present it to
Court 5 days after the stabbing Stuart Wilkinson felt he had enough evidence to get a conviction in a fast moving investigation his team had Unearthed extensive CCTV which showed the murderer and and his accomplice committing The Killing and then making their escape through the streets of North Manchester most importantly he had the
Perpetrator admitting to the brutal act I’ve dealt with murders where there’s been stabbings unfortunately the people have died and actually when you actually get the offenders into the custody you can see they’re probably thinking I can’t believe I’ve just done that a moment of Madness and the the lives that
Is affected not just for the victim and the victim’s family but actually themselves and their family I think that’s when reality hits but obviously it’s too late then on the 22nd of October 2017 Chief investigating officer Stuart Wilkinson formerly charged Michael Idan with the murder of Kiren Webb his accomplice was charged with
Manslaughter had it had been that they had engaged in an altercation and there was a fire or an argument then you could say he didn’t intend to do it they got into a fight and this is what escalated but apart from those two stab wounds Michael didn’t touch iriran at all there
Wasn’t a fight there wasn’t a hit there wasn’t a push or a kick there wasn’t any argument so you as far as I’m concerned you intended to go out to stab him that day you can see in Idan that he is progressing that he’s already involved in a great deal of violence particularly
With knives and that he’s going to progress from using knives carrying knives threatening to use knives to actually using knives and before the murder of Kiron he’s already got convictions for carrying and using knives as a way of demonstrating um that he has power and status and agency within the particular Manchester culture
That he exists within in the runup to the trial accused murderer Idan was still attempting to avoid responsibility the court appearances Michael did not enter a plea at all either guilty or not guilty he was asked to have a uh mental health assessment for me I didn’t see anything
There was no representation made about his mental health at the time of the the interviews when he was in police custody there’s nothing in his background checks so he was deemed not of mental health issues and then he was obviously asked to put a play in from there and uh he pleaded guilty
5 months later in April 2018 the trial began we traveled down to Manchester the night before we had all gathered into court but it was quite daunting and then I just heard this cackling of chains and I don’t know what it is about that noise of chains that really got me and I
Turned around and there was Michael standing in his box his hair was untidy his skin looked looked dry he had these little black rim glasses on at the front of his nose and he just looked like everybody’s child he looked like you could have been my
Child I don’t know why it happened but this wave of empathy just went and smacked me straight in my face and I thought you know what there was a knife in K’s bag yeah there was always that chance wasn’t there that this could have been reversed Kirra may
Have been the perpetrator and I may have been the mother of a perpetrator and I couldn’t feel anger for this boy anymore in my mind I’d created this image of a monster and it wasn’t a monster it was a little boy the details of what led to the
Murder was still hard to Fathom Idan had given several different accounts but the one the judge thought most likely was a disp spute over the rap video Idan had posted online Kiron had apparently made derogatory comments about the video and Idan wanted Revenge he said that it was an inconsequential um
Disagreement and he put it down to the video that was released in August 2017 and kirn’s comment that the song was rubbish as Idan did not take the stand at the trial no further details were Unearthed the advantages for Michael pleading guilty is clearly for the family that they know that we’ve got the right man they’re accepting that he’s killed Kiron and it just stops them having to go through a difficult court case but on this occasion I think that the downside is Michael and his
Accomplice in had to give evidence where they could be questioned about why it happened what is the real reason why they met up how did they meet up what was the communication and I don’t think Rachel’s ever really got the answers that she wanted to understand why her son’s been
Murdered the reality is we have never ever understood why they met that night what caused the argument and what was so bad about the argument that caused Michael to stab Kiron twice and murder him and that must be really frustrating for the family young men can experience huge discomfort from the
Smallest of slights that you and I as adults who are mature might not even notice if you’ve got young men who invest a great deal of who they are and their ego into the production of those kinds of communications then frankly that can often escalate rather quickly into
Almost seeming like um a challenge to the very essence of who that individual is on the 11th of May 2018 Michael Idan was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 15 years his accomplice was given 5 years for manslaughter my eyes sort of really opened wide when I heard the judge say
15 years to be honest with you because kin was 15 you’ve got kin’s life he took his life you’re now serve his life life imprisonment is always for murder but when you look at uh the way the judge summed up a moment of Madness You could argue has ruined his life
Changed his life forever 15 years I think on reflection when you look at other sentences given to other people for murder I would say that was a reasonable sentence I’m happy that obviously justice has been put in place and you know he’s got what he’s got
But really he’s got to live without his life on like I just think he should stay in prison forever and never come out that’s what I think at the end of the trial idan’s mother was full of remorse what was impacted for me at court the reaction of Michael’s mom who
Went over to Rachel very very upset on her knees hugging Rachel say she’s sorry there’s two different emotions of mothers there one Rachel has had her child murdered and then the other mother who’s if you like he’s gone to jail for Life his wife’s been ruined two different
Book the devastation was quite clear to see from both sides for Rachel the nightmare has never ended I was stuck on this Groundhog Day every day was October the 17th I slept at and breathed October 17 whoever you were prior to such trauma you’re not that person I don’t think the
Same I don’t speak the same I don’t act the same on that night where I said everything fell out that emotional numbness it didn’t leave Me I still don’t understand why he got stabbed I don’t understand it it’s just it’s just NE and senseless it’s just over over nothing what did they do it for I would love to sit down with him and just say what made you do that Michael he didn’t say anything court but
After he did write her a letter of believe asking for forgiveness Michael was apologizing in the letter he was telling me that not a day goes by where he’s not thinking of kirn K’s always on his mind and he prays that one day he gets to see kirn again
To you know apologize he said to me which did really hurt me that if he was offered the death sentence he would take the death sentence for what he’ done for kirn what’s the point of having more Bloodshed and more fatality is that doesn’t resolve anything for me if
You’re sorry you come out make better decisions you give back to society and you become a pillar of the community that’s how you’re going to show me that you are sorry you live kiran’s Legacy in a way that I know Kiron would have lived it

Respect to the mother hope her amazing strength is always with her ❤
I'm sorry, but he would have been prompted by he's solicitor, to look like the little spectacled innocent boy to disguise the monster killer…..
Poor lad didn't deserve this the world is crazy!😢
All the dreams but jumping round with knifes making drill videos being the big man only ends one way and this is the reality so kids chase your dreams not your victim 💯
More stop& search !!!!
Moston he wouldnt have known where he was , I parked in ASDA in moston one sunday i thought i was abroad. When i drove out off ASDA i even drove on the wrong side off the road ,
FANTASTIC MUM MADE ME CRY , Top women .
This country is a joke with prison sentences. life should be life like America. A young lad's life has gone because of a video. There's no way i could feel 'empathy' for that murderer. That lad isn't guilty. A life just gone.
I got this from a reformed good dude called ; Darren Gee , #choosealifenotaknife !!! As of the day he rep's the hashtag so have I been doin the same as I've had experience in this subject matter, I'm Scotty boy from Scotland and I have gotten my own life together now just like Darren has I don't know him but I've watched many videos of him when he comes out of prison people wanted him on their podcasts and Darren Gee is a real one but he's tuned his life right around and I watched him grow his own podcast doing all sorts of things to give back to the community and as far as I know that is what he now rep's Inc exercise for all different levels of fitness he has inspired me to use this hashtag and please can ya'll do the same share this hashtag and even go on to his podcast same name as I've written for ya'll the reason I said he's a real one is not because he has done a lot of years behind bars but the fact that he was able to walk away from everything that's been bad in his life but survival at the same time is the same thing I've been through I'll not go into detail about us because it's about everyone who carries a knife, massive problem with the pressure of having to have a weapon so you don't get killed is all over the UK as we know but it's important to use what we have and if a message can save someone's life then it's worth it for even getting to one person to drop the knife because I will be honest with y'all you have that knife in your pocket 9 times out of ten your going to use it and two young lives will be over one dead one in prison for life ya'll feel me right, right !!! Drop your knife and there's a better chance of you not killing someone else and it's usually all over nothing and nothing is like having a life when you're not carrying a knife let's get it together man thank you very much Scotty boy from Scotland.
This is a black thing, just look at the USA. Until we admit there's a problem in the black community with gangs and violent crime it will never get sorted, and screaming "racist" at ppl that dare to raise this point really doesn't help.
Karma catches up with these kids one way or another
15 years for this piece of human waste what a joke
Mum: constantly smiling throughout the whole interview, and fails to shed a tear.
Friend: 18:19 (laughs when saying “he’s on life support”)
28:40 (again she laughs when saying “he passed away”
Very strange behaviour from people that are “grieving”
Guy went my PRU, in Penge, I remember he got sent manny . RIP
Sydenham ain’t quiet
So senseless, thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends 🙏🏻❤
Put the knives down, one moment of pure evil ruined a family 😢
No father at home again..???
Sadly it Seems to be a recurring theme in this community generation after generation…🤷🏼🧐👍🏻
I think what the mum was getting at in being able to empathise with the boy is seeing how all the kids minds are almost hijacked by this lethal drill and rap culture and none of them realise till it’s too late that there’s nothing cool about it, and what they coveted and thought really made them something in the cold light of day turns to ashes in their mouth and they’re stood there with a knife with a boys blood on it. I’m not saying they don’t have any agency but particularly at that age influence is huge and in some cases it appears almost impossible not to be pulled along by the crowd cause that’s all you know. It’s not till it’s too late that you realise the vacancy of it all. I can certainly empathise with a lot of them kids they’re growing up in an extraordinarily dark and cruel environment and all they understand is to behave accordingly. Instead of pointing fingers we all need to instigate change from the root/ground up
Rather then make up numbers due to being incompetent or just ill informed the actual number in the UK for Black single parents from the 2021 census is 50.01 % do some research
Drill music should really be banned. It is incitement to kill on steroids and unlike perhaps any other genre of music, including gangster rap, it is completely devoid of humanity.
pathetic sentence 😢
Hi. What TV series is this documentary from? I've been looking for more episodes
Jesus is the Key 💖
“How can I talk 'bout killing my opps and in the same breath say Black Lives Matter?” Ghetts
What happened to sticks and stones think that want to start teaching that saying to the youth
Nothing is having any effect on this. How about letting everyone know that in future life will be 50 years, bcos this can't go on and we value the victims lives more than the feral youths who have no respect for anything.
I’m so sorry for your brother. In the uk the sentences are ridiculously lenient. They are however getting better when sentencing murderers. Many a person I know has been given a harder longer sentence for burglary. Drugs bring the heaviest sentences and no one is stabbing anyone. People can argue that drug dealers are killing people but no one holds a knife to your throat to take the drugs. That’s a personal choice. Drugs however do seem to bring harsher sentences in the uk than anything else even murder. Kudos to kyrons mom for her selfless attitude. I have mixed race nephews and can totally understand when she says his skin was dry etc. we’re so used to creaming our babies it’s immediately obvious when they’re not being taken care of. It might seem irrelevant to strangers but people in our world will thoroughly understand. It’s heartbreaking to see someone who looks uncared for. That’s why kyrons mum had empathy for the boy that killed him. Two lovely women lost their children that day. My heart breaks for both of them. Love and prayers to everyone involved in this senseless murder xx❤🙏xx
Institutionalised racism!!!!111oneoneone
Great channel 👏 insta-sub ✅️
Seen alot of murders but this is the first time I have seen the murderer leave the scene, only to return again and stab the victim again, and in the back. That honestly for me put this murder on a whole different level. It's not a moment of madness when you have 30 seconds to process what you've done, and decide yeah I'm gonna go back and do it again. That was truly sickening.
I'm sure it was just about the rap song, many youth murders in London were the product of "diss" lyrics or people insulting each others videos/lyrics. Kyron had the knife but didn't have that aggression to use it or even the intent to have it to hand in his pocket. I don't think he expected the blow when it came. I'm sure he didn't expect Michael to return and do it again.
One can only hope Michael is truly remorseful and when he is eventually released is able to live as a changed mature person.
Sentences for murder have increased in recent years, I was surprised at the minimum term of 15 years, I think now it would have been closer to 21-23 years.
Manchester.. lovely and quiet.. countryside 😂 gun capital of the uk mind… rip the poor lad
Serving 15 years for an M doesn't guarantee you'll get parole, let's see if he's out the first time round. He's looking at 18-20, the rest he's in and out for the slightest violations for the rest of his life.
My heart aches for Kyrons Mom 😢 That poor woman. RIP Kyron ❤
Absolutely heartbreaking his poor mother . Sorry that micheal is just a rat tgat can’t be rehabilitated. A monster who was fascinated with knives and violence
Big up for your channel ! I was stabbed resulting in a spinal cord injury. Sydenham, Lewisham and Catford. A hard place to grow up least to say. People need to put the knives down but how can anyone make that happen when someone will be like, “My man will have one I need defence. All this knife crime is disheartening and people that survive don’t give the real statistic on. It’s al just sad, society needs to change, but this has just been growing and growing, my heart, goes out to all the families that lost a son or a daughter or a sibling to knife crime.
Why didn't the boys father get involved what a lil man
1 would be 'architect' killed by a would be 'doctor'
Same old story. They're all saints
Here is my point if your lazy ass son is lying around, playing video games and pretending to be a rap star and developing this childish fantasy of being some sort of of a gangster while you’re working and taking care of the house and still doing his laundry for him —-that’s on you. There is too much worshipful spoiling of young men. Whenever they say someone was an “aspiring Rap star” I roll my eyes.
Dont Carry Knives.
Im so sad these kids are doin this man i swear im so sad how he died
These younger killers have no clue pathetic rip my young G love how your mother is peace
