With its 1-in-37 gradient, the Lickey Incline was an interesting place to be, particularly in days of old. The challenging climb northwards from Bromsgrove demanded full power from the traction which to some didn’t prove problematic to most but there were alsi those that relied upon assistance. On this warm summers day in 1987, our camerman witnessed events as trains to and from Birminham tackled the climb with apparent ease.

Today overhead wires are now here on this section of the lickey incline this is due to bromsgrove now a new terminus for cross city services
And everyone can come here to the lickey incline especially to see railtours or any trains banking up the hill
