I’m looking for it to be decent enough that I won’t have to upgrade in 6 months because it doesn’t do what I need it to do. I’m looking into crits, but also longer rides of around 150kms etc. It will be my first road bike. These prices are all in AUD.
I thought the trek seemed like good value, but I’m kind of clueless about it all.

I recommend the Emonda models for a rider like you. But I am not going to pay two thousand dollars for a used ALR 5. NO WAY. Ask the owner if he can make the bike 500 cheaper. 1,800 or 1,500 which is a steal 🤫
TBH you can buy a new ALR 5 for 2,299….
