Hi! So I just got a new frame and was left with some spare parts from older projects that I used to create what I call “my overpriced commuter”. I mounted some old 800mm MTB bars with a 40mm stem and an XT drivetrain on a 2018 Kona Rove ST. First ride was today and I hated the feel of the handlebars. They feel so close and so overly wide. Since this is going to be a bike to just ride to work and back I want comfort. I was considering mounting a set of Surly Sunrise bars with a 50mm stem and see how that goes. Has anyone ever converted a Kona Rove to flat bars that has some more input about it?

Thanks!

  1. Really hate to skip you question. I don’t have an answer for you. I am however really curious if you know or have any info on that front rack?

  2. i would mount something like 550mm with the stock stem unless it was too long for you already.

800mm with short stem for a city bike is too much.
