Do you remember that iconic bike brand rally I’m talking past tense because it appears to me that they are winding down their operations now they haven’t assembled a bike in the UK for the past 20 odd years but now also their parts divisions has been outsourced and redundancies are
Following suit they used to be a major employer Innovative bike brand they the chopper one wheel bigger than the other oh Cy and had three speeds and then they had the old rod and the felt pads but me that was a blast from yesterday year but today just like any other imported
Bicycle from Taiwan it seems to me nothing special about them and when people can’t afford and you know they need been inspired and encouraged to purchase something that they fall in love with and they want it they want to ride it they’re proud of it not like
Some other mundane piece of if you know what I mean what say you leave in the comments down below too

First new bike my parents bought me was a Raleigh Arena, must have ridden hundreds of miles on it.
My wife just told me that Stuart Milne construction in Aberdeenshire Scotland has just gone bust.
Like a, lot of UK big names, they squandered their market advantage, put no money into R and D. Typical UK legacy industry mames…
Oh no, I had one, and a chopper
Their bikes were expensive for made in the Far East quality…
But it’s nothing to do with brexit
Remember the old chopper
Palm beach ?
I remember Raleigh Bicycles had a problem with their frames breaking.
But I do have to admit that they went through a lot of abuse😂
My fondest sporting memory is when Joop Zoetemelk won the Tour de France. Raleigh was then the main sponsor of his Dutch team.
I'm surprised bikes weren't just called Raleighs, like vacuums are hoovers..( I still hoover!) Were there any other brands in 60s and 70s?
I follow the sport of pro cycling (road, MTB, CX) and one trend that has been talked about for over a year is that there are too many bike makers in the world and that a shakedown was coming
As well as 'the Chopper', there was also the marvellously named bike for the little kids, 'the Chipper'.
Dawes was another iconic🚲 brand with transposed manufacturing from Castle Bromwich 🏴 to the Far East.
The CPTPP should help [whom] ? 🤔
My first bicycle in Mauritius 1972 very good quality
