For Is good morning this is more of a I know it’s not going to work but I wish that it was sort of attempt trying to get the winch to just push up the lint back into place and then I can brick up under it obviously it’s going to be a lot easier
Than collapsing the whole thing but wow you know what I think that actually could work it did get it back pretty level I guess the thing is that I need to have rebuil nearly to the ltil then Jack it up rebuild under it leave it to set overnight
Okay that’s all of a sudden less of a Job what’s that Well just heard a bit of a bang uh oh no hell it looks like when I pushed the ltil back up into place and then took it back down it’s kind of jiggled everything about and now this looks like it’s ready to fall down Balls and if you can see how much this is bulging out now it’s actually just been held up by that oh no okay well that’s a lot of rock up there I don’t want to just let it fall because it could damage the floors and you know take other stuff with it I
Think while it’s kind of not moving I get the scaffolding up I’ll try take some of that stone out there’s no doubt about it this is a bit dodgy for A that felt like a bit of a Race Against Time stuff was dropping as I was pulling it out I mean yeah it did need to come out what is quite worrying is this hole here yeah what is it don’t worry about a crack until he can fit your hand in look
It’s gone pretty smoothly so far Sumer extra had to happen this is now quite a priority Stay where you are so similar to what I did with the other lentils I’m going to have to get this bit bricked up which then will support the lentil which then means I can replace all the stone back on top it is relatively easy just some I didn’t
Want to do right now so it’s going to be a tomorrow job because I’m going to have to get bricks uh little bit more lime stuff like that so I’ve got enough to kind of crack it all out in One It’s is so I’m hoping this works I’ve converted this into a little pallet lift so I could put my mortar and bricks on there bump it up to the scaffolding and get repair in this I propped it up for now it’s all at the right height so I’ve just got to fill
The bricks in and then the top so it’s ultimately going to be the same with this one I’ve had a little look it doesn’t look as bad but given what the last one was like just going to take it down and not mess about I mean look I’m
Pretty confident that I can judge you know how much can be taken out and how much can’t but there’s always a risk that you know stuff comes down especially these big stones at the top so that’s why it’s got to come down carefully and go back up quickly
Ideally hopefully it’s the last two bits like this and we’ve been quite lucky with the whole building like not much of it has collapsed in this way it’s really just this Wing So if we can get over this wing and get the roof on the floors
On here every side should be I’m no I’m not going to say it not going to say it cuz it won’t be anyway for rebuilding this I’ll see you tomorrow

The puppy at the start is adorable.
"This is now quite a priority". Indeed Dan!
I'm more bothered about the puppers being in the way if something collapses than I am anything else 😬
I feel that you are in desperate need of a structural engineer. And I was going to say that before I even read the comments below. It will be spending money to save a vast amount of money and a major disaster. We care! Thank you for the video!
Nice job Dan, good try.
I’m not a builder but dose anyone else CRINGE when Dan starts pulling stones out from the BOTTOM of the wall?😮
Look up Real Algarve Living. They rebuilt and restored a dilapidated place with similar damage and did have to replace some structural walls, in Portugal. In the long run, you're better off doing it right the first time, than having a catastrophe, or having to go back and redo it. Those guys can help and give you solid advice.
Needs a ‘licked’ button
The entire top of your chateau appears to have rotten mortar. Pointing will add very little strength to your structure. Its mainly to stop insect and air infiltration. I don't see a new roof holding these rotten walls in place. Any movement will further loosen the stones until they fail, possibly bringing your building down. Unfortunately you should remove all the walls up top that are crumbly, and rebuild them. 😢
👍👍👍
Comment section going wild. Clearly they don’t approve of your quick fix. Typically, internet always wins. Guess we’ll see.

interesting comments i read 😄
that top wall looks like a challenge, but i think you can handle it 👍🏾
Walls are fine, keep building. Good work Dan.
correct me if I'm wrong but i believe you can take the handle off that lift and use a battery drill to jack it up
Doggo’s are living their best lives
I will be surprised if you do not get seriously injured in one of these episodes. Think before you do some of these things . These walls need a complete rebuild… if not your asking for serious issues down the road… Be Safe and at least I'm glad your not wearing the converse tennis shoes any more. 👍🏽
This is a house not a lego😂
As an Indonesian who good at building a palace, this kind of work is not good. You should rebuild it from 0 and you can still use the stone, this is a house, not a lego.
I have said it before and I will say it again, this guy is a complete idiot. Yes, he is a nice chap and thoroughly likeable but he is a danger to himself and anybody who ventures into that building.
pozdrawiam
the most intense game of jenga
You are crazy to save those walls. A lot of walls if not most should be rebuilt from scratch.
Love Dog at beginning
I’m relatively new to your channel but have gone back to watch much better f your chateaux project. I have missed two things I’d love to know about. First, how did you meet nick and his son? Second, what are the French regulations regarding your rebuild? I’m assuming you needed to meet some kind of requirements, that you have at some point employed a structural engineer to come visit the site, and that there are regular inspections as the work progresses. Can you take five minutes in an upcoming video to address these things (and sorry if it’s a repeat of what you’ve said earlier but I’ve watched over 100 of your old vlogs and not seen those things mentioned). And thanks for the really interesting “day in the work life of Dan and co” videos. And thanks for doing them without music—you are a good filmmaker.
I hope you 😮 read these comments. Worrying.
Hooray! Let’s build an unstable, unsafe building, cutting corners and eventually having stuff fall down on your head. You gotta be the dumbest builder out there.
He will have plenty of time to read the comments when he’s at the hospital. Only then will this brick of a man understand that if you don’t do things properly, you will pay the price. You are the king of dodgy work. I would NEVER hire you to do any sort of work in my home. You are dangerous and should be stopped.
Dan for God's sake get another person to help you!
Removing the stones was like the Jinga game only with rock.
That was scary. We can console ourselves that the top of the turret, by comparison, will be scarier.
Why would you apply upward force on a stone wall though? It's not like stone or lime is flexible.
Addicted to this channel ,,have the couple went their separate ways , never see his missus ?
Not impressed
Removing those stones is a bit like a very high stake Jenga.
Happy berth day Dan! Yes, the last live blog was definitely “raw” and gives a glimpse of of your true challenges…far more than we imagined… safety first☺️
I dont think this guy gives a shit about the comments lol
No Jenga with the rocks
Your explanations are too lengthy, just show us more of your workmanship. Additionally, your episodes can be longer.
Молодец , объектив нужно держать в чистоте.
It is actually good I think you tried to push it up first for it exposed the state the walls are in.
That was very nerve-wracking!😅
Shit ! You got lucky this window has a double lentils system!
How do you manage to film yourself talking and also it's you working by the window in the background? I thought that I saw that effect in another video when you were filming from outside and also you were also up at the window working. Maybe I'm losing it.
