My Shimano battery trying to charge with the lights flashing. What’s going on? Doesn’t charge

“Remove the battery charger from the battery and press the power button. If an error is displayed, contact the place of purchase.”

Basically unplug, check all the ports, turn the bat on while not charging, then try again.
