Camp chair: BA Skyline UL vs Helinox Chair Zero

I bought the BA Skyline UL recently and I took it on a winter bikepacking trip. It was awesome not to have to sit on the ground. I like to spend my evenings leisurely at camp and read in the evenings. The BA was super comfortable and I didn’t have any back or neck problems after hours in it. I really loved it.

Of course, my girlfriend got jealous and now wants to buy the same chair. That got me thinking I could give her my Skyline and I could try out the Helinox Chair Zero. Why? Mostly because it’s lighter at 500g vs 800g of the BA Skyline. The Skyline is also a bit longer when packed (40 cm vs 35cm). I think the Helinox might be a tiny bit more flexible in where I pack it on the bike. My setup is a rear rack with 2 Revelate Nano panniers so I could put the chair on the top of the rear rack. Another option is to put it horizontally on my front rack (under my Revelate Sweet Roll). That’s what I did last time. But I want to limit weight on my fork because I don’t like it getting too heavy (for handling).

For fast and light trips with friends I wouldn’t bring the chair. It’s more for longer trips with my girlfriend (which is most of the time). Evenings are more about camp life. We like to stop for a few days at a public camp site and relax. We’re also planning to go bikepacking for 6 months so I would bring this chair on that trip.

I’m pretty sure the Skyline is Much more stable, durable and comfortable. But I wonder if it’s worth the exta 300g and pack size. I’ve been replacing all my gear with ultralight alternatives, and this one luxury item would not be that. Then again, if I’m gonna bring a chair, why not make it the most comfortable one?

Anyone that was able to compare both or any general advice? I haven’t been able to find the Helinox around here in the shop so I can’t compare myself.
