Hey yall! I’ve been lurking here for a couple months since I found this bike. You guys have a cool community. I’ve never had a nice bike but could tell this one was quality. Is it stock? Modified?
I looked it up – it’s an older Swobo Filmore? I’ve been looking for documentation or guides on how to fix it/get parts for it but it’s hard to find as Swobo seems to be out of business.
I have tools and am a bit mechanically inclined but I really have no idea what I’m looking at here, what will need to be replaced, what is fixable, what to service, etc.
I can tell the front fork is a bit bent apart. That’s all I can really see.
How can I get this handsome bike back on the road? Preferably for as cheap as possible haha, I’m broke.
Help!! Please lol

Well have you tried putting it back together? What’s missing?
It’s not great that the forks have got bent, if it’s only a couple of cm I’d bend it back and see how I got on.
That’s a funny looking crank. If that’s a shifter on the handlebars it could be some sort of elliptical gearing system in the crank? Could be wrong, there’s no gears otherwise.
[Edit] On 2nd look it’s a hub gear.
Should’ve added that this is how I found the bike 😅
r/bikewrench is the perfect sub to ask
Based on the photos, I’m not convinced the fork is bent. It will be easier to tell once you try installing the front wheel. Maybe it’s obvious in person
You have an igh rear hub, this is a system of gearing that can easily skip or not engage if set up or tuned improperly. It may have been discarded because when it was pedalled nothing happened. You’ll need to watch some yt videos but assuming nothing’s fundamentally wrong with the bike you just lucked out. Pretty sure that’s shimano nexus as well so plenty of documentation and resources exist to get it running new again. Happy riding!
Ps: Forks look good to me, not the best angles but nothing’s screaming broke to me
Though it’s always cool to see other Swobos out there, that bike isn’t a fixed gear. I would post to r/bikewrench for more advice on how to assemble that back into working order.
Tbh I’d advise to steer clear. This bike is not meant to be ridden fixed and the whole geo is just adapter for beach cruising.
I rescued bin bikes and they are always dog shit because something isn’t up to the normal standard
I love these, Swobo!
If it doesn’t work out at least you can open your beer with the bottle opener seat
