First time road bike buyer looking for a recommendation. I’ll be using this bike primarily for triathalons and tri training (when the weather finally allows for outdoor cycling in my area).

A local shop is selling the [CAAD13 Disc Rival ASX](https://www.cannondale.com/en-us/bikes/road/race/caad13/caad13-disc-rival) for $2715 out the door. Is it a no brainer to get that aluminum bike on discount, or should I got with this entry level [Canyon race bike](https://www.canyon.com/en-us/road-bikes/race-bikes/ultimate/cf-sl/ultimate-cf-sl-7/3555.html?dwvar_3555_pv_rahmenfarbe=R101_P01) for $3k (post tax)?

My budget is in the $2,500-$3,000 range and pretty much everything is out of stock in my size locally. Thanks!

  1. I actually think if you look around you can get something carbon fibre with electronic gearing for around the your budget. The group set will be rival or 105 di2.
I wouldn’t get the Caad as there are rumours a new model is coming out. The Caad13 never really took off like the previous versions.
