I got a 2023 Roscoe 7 used for $1200 and am extremely happy with it. Just make sure it fits you well and I’d say go for it!

You might be able to find a FS in that budget. Granted it’s an entry bike I got my 2022 Marin Rift zone for 800. Just have to fine the right deal.
