So full-time, actually my main job, not a part-time job, I’m a pyrotechnician. My main tasks are: Planning and organizing the business and our orders. And I just love that. And of course I love explosions. I love car explosions and everywhere else when there’s a crash. Hello, I’m Mebel. I am 27 years old and come from beautiful Upper Bavaria and live in this tiny house that we built ourselves. I have a lot of hobbies, am a creative person, work in the volunteer fire department and am a full-time pyrotechnician. This is my tiny house. You can already see it’s a trailer. It’s a tiny house trailer. We bought it in the Netherlands. This is not a finished tiny house that we bought from the catalog. The trailer is 7.30 meters long. And the maximum height you can build is 4 meters.
And in contrast to other trailers, the Tinyhouse Trailer is particularly deep. Because you can only build to a height of 4 meters. And that it is as wide as possible so that it can be transported on the road. We simply built it – I painted a sketch myself – how I
Imagine the house to be. I didn’t want a typical, practical tiny house like the ones you see on the internet. And then I came up with this style. I love these flowers because I think they make it look like a real dollhouse. The windows were handmade by my best
Friend’s dad. He actually builds picture frames and I didn’t want normal windows that you open like that, but rather in the English style that can be pushed up. I think I painted the house five times
With an extra rubber varnish. And also pre-treated. But you can see that you always have to do something to the house. Small cracks have appeared again. I have to screw the few slats back on. There’s actually always something to do.
Then the door, my brother took over an old cinema and there was a lot of furniture and I was allowed to choose one door from 20 doors. I wanted exactly these. I didn’t want a normal front door, but more like a room door.
The door frame was built by my friend’s dad, who also built the windows. My brother welded the stairs for me because you have to have an entrance somehow. And that’s where we put the stones here. That you then have it clean. A very interesting story, and it wasn’t planned at all, I had
A small apartment near where I am now. Also a kind of mini house. It was an old miner’s cottage and the apartment wasn’t in such good condition. Cold and wet, no real bathroom.
That wasn’t something that lasted and then the question was: Okay, what do I do in the future, I can’t stay there forever. And for me there was never any question of renting an expensive apartment somewhere where I only work to pay the rent.
My dad then came up with the idea: Hey, how about a tiny house. And at first I was – that’s basically whatever dad says – so no, no, that’s not mine at all. But dad has
Always had the best ideas in my life. I always notice this only after the fact. And then we actually decided relatively quickly and started buying the trailer very quickly. And then start building. It went from an idea to implementation in no time. As
Is usually the case in my life. When it comes to making decisions, things happen very quickly. The tiny house also has a bay window. It was a bit complicated to build, but I think it makes it particularly beautiful.
And also enlarged this bed area. And here of course the gutter, that’s clear anyway. Here is my bucket, where all the water is for watering flowers. And at the back here is my heater – of course I only use it in winter.
This is simply an auxiliary heater, like the one from the motorhome sector, that runs on diesel. And here on the other side are the heating oils or diesel canisters. Exactly, but as I said I need it until March. Depending on how cold or
Warm it is. But the house is actually quite well insulated. Here is the ladder because I wanted to touch it up a bit. There are a few slats missing that haven’t been properly painted yet. This is the back of the house, there’s nothing special there.
The car is jacked up so that it doesn’t wobble so much when you walk around inside. And the whole thing is here on a meadow that I can use. It belongs to my parents and I can use it if I mow the lawn and do a bit of maintenance.
Ah, what is very important is that the tiny house is not permanently installed on this trailer. It’s removable, so we started building it on the trailer, but it’s not firmly attached to it. But it is lashed so that it does not fall during transport. And so you could lift the house.
There is a special device for this and you can then drive out with the trailer. Yes, and it weighs exactly 3 1/2 tons to the kilo. For a long time I always wanted to be like everyone else, I definitely wanted to keep up and follow the trends. I think the crucial thing
Back then was that my brother had a girlfriend and she was different and I had never seen anything like that before. And when I saw it for the first time, I mean, I was 12, and then I thought: I want to be different too.
I don’t want to be like everyone else. And that’s when I started to distance myself from what everyone else thought was cool. Now I’m going to ask: What do I think is cool? What interests me? And that’s actually how it started. And I just
Noticed that if you don’t follow society mentally and in terms of lifestyle and everything, it’s a pretty good path. So I actually never thought about it: Oh, I live differently now,
Or how can I live differently than others. For me it was just like this: Wait, stop, my interests or my role models are no longer other people. And only later, when you look back, hey, how have the last few years been,
What happened, or what are others like? Sometimes you compare yourself with others. What are others doing in their lives? Or work-wise, lifestyle-wise. And my family isn’t normal anyway, we’re just a little different. We are simply the Humiks. I don’t think you can describe it any other way.
We are not the norm and that is a good thing. Hello come in, this is exactly my tiny house from the inside. My little dollhouse. Here is my wardrobe, I used it more in the past. Because I actually have my jackets and stuff over in my rehearsal room.
I only have what I put on in the evening or morning. Then I have my electric piano here. I always take this with me on the bus when I play at weddings and baptisms and here too for rehearsals. I still have a
Small seat here. My sofa, I like to take a nap here, even if it ‘s a bit tight. But somehow I really like it. I also have my tailor’s dummy here, I think it rounds the whole thing off nicely. I made the flower here myself, I’m quite creative
And have a lot of craft supplies. And I have all the craft and creative stuff up here. So a lot of felt, acrylic, watercolors, canvases, postcards and other things. This is my chair when I’m just thinking
Or talking on the phone. Then I like to sit here and look out. And otherwise I’m sitting here on this. I built it myself, back when I was training to be a specialist teacher. And I like to sit here for a long time in the evenings and do crafts and crafts.
I still have exactly one mirror, lamp and blinds. Which you can do here under the bed . Because the train passes right by the window and I don’t want people to be able to look in there. Then yes: “This is a happy home.” And right here I
Also have some craft supplies in there. And that’s all I have right here. Then we go up to the bed area. So we just thought about it beforehand: What is it all like, where will the
Tiny house be located? It is very important that you have thought about this beforehand. Where I lived before , the plan was to put it there in the garden. The plan was that I wouldn’t have a kitchen or bathroom in the tiny house, which also
Makes things a little easier legally. Because no water connection and so on. And then it happened, I had to move because I was no longer tolerated there. That no longer worked for the landlord as it had at the beginning. And now I’m standing on a property, what do I mean?
Parents heard. On a large meadow and everything is there, so I would say that especially in the tiny house thing, it’s 100,000% legal in every detail, it’s complicated, it’s not illegal, that’s important. I think it’s perhaps a gray area in some ways. But you can’t say
It’s not illegal, that was also very important to me. This is my bed area and at first I thought: Ah, I might feel kind of cramped because it’s not quite as high. But I’m completely used to it. At first I bumped into the beam here a few times.
And yes, I love my bed, I don’t think I feel as comfortable in any bed in the world, second only to my bus, as I do here. Then we have two windows in here, they also make a big difference. Unfortunately I can’t figure it out right now.
But I can open this window and even in summer I usually have it open at night and during the day. It’s already getting warm in the tiny house. But if you have the door open downstairs and the windows and this, then there’s a nice
Draft, then it’s actually okay. Exactly, I have a lot of sockets, three here and three over there. It was important to me that there were a lot of sockets in the house because in my previous apartment there were far too few and I had to constantly put in plugboards.
This is also where my beeper is. When there’s a mission at night, I always have to walk out of the tiny house and down to the car. And I still have a lamp and over here is my nightstand.
And there isn’t much else here. I still have blinds. There’s a knot in there because it always becomes a bit independent. Most of the time I only have the other one closed because that
‘s the neighboring building and I don’t want anyone looking in there in the morning. And yes, it gets warm in the tiny house in summer because it is in a very sunny place and the sun shines on it until midday or even the afternoon. But
We actually insulated it quite well with Styrodur. And yes, it’s actually quite good so far. In winter the heating is fine and in summer it is sometimes a bit warm. Especially in August, but that’s the case everywhere, no matter where you live or how you live. I’m a pyrotechnician full-time, not part-time.
My main tasks are: Planning and organizing the business and our orders. And a really big part is the training. I’m a trainer and we somehow feel like we do everything, it can’t be summed up in two sentences. We are a family business, so my parents are already retired, my brother and I.
3 2 1 Fire Our company is called “Hummig Effects the Pyrotechnician School”. That’s two companies in one. Once Hummig Effects, we use it to create special effects. Mainly for opera houses worldwide, so for example with snow, rain, fog and things that explode, with pyrotechnics without pyrotechnics. And then we have the pyrotechnics school,
Where we train. So we have a school where we train stage pyrotechnicians, special effects makers, film pyrotechnicians and large fireworks artists. I really love my work, even though it can be really tiring at times. And what I love most about it is that no two
Days are the same. Nothing is ever normal and I have so much freedom and there is so much creativity and I always have to think for myself: What can I do, what am I working on today, how can I advance the company, where is something needed? So
Strain your brain yourself. I like to continue my education. I love gaining this knowledge and I also love the technical discussions with my dad, where I can learn even more. And getting really into something and being an expert at something is something I just love and
Of course explosions. I love car explosions and everywhere else when there is a crash. [Explosions] [Ringing] Then let’s go over there, because if I have to go to the toilet or make myself a coffee, of course I have to leave the house.
No matter whether in summer or winter. And in the summer I usually go straight through the patio door. This is my commercial space or primarily or predominantly my rehearsal space. I bought the grand piano because it’s great here
Fits in. And I play classical piano, but also piano and singing and speaking at weddings. And perform at baptisms. Then here is my beautiful hollowbody guitar and my other guitar. And I play different instruments and have several bands. We sometimes make video recordings or rehearsals here . It gets a bit tight when
We play with the facility here and are 5-6. I distributed exactly the other instruments, otherwise it would take up a bit of space. Here is my kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, everything you need. Dishwasher. I actually bought the kitchen new. It didn’t cost much and I usually try
To buy everything I buy used. I love used things, or making or building things myself. I bought the stove, refrigerator and microwave all from Ebay classifieds. Only the kitchen was a very cheap Ikea kitchen for €400 and I think it’s really nice.
And here you can also see the wallpaper. I didn’t want any tiles underneath. But that the wallpaper looks nice. And there’s just some plexiglass over it. The whole thing is actually in an industrial area. And here the rehearsal room is also in the large hall. We then
Demarcated the part ourselves, so we put in walls. So that I can use it for my small business. With whom I do all sorts of things, but above all a lot of music stuff. And I definitely needed a place where I wouldn’t disturb anyone. Where I
Can play the piano at night, or just listen to loud music for several hours and practice my stuff. Exactly and we can do that. So it was nothing before, just a big hall. It also belongs to my parents and there is also a company there. And
Then they had to downsize a bit. And we put these walls in here, it’s about 50 square meters. And here I have the kitchen and bathroom, which I can then use privately. Yes, Rockabilly, that’s a group or scene that I don’t approve of in all respects. And I wouldn’t say that I fully belong to this scene. But of course I identify with things similar to this scene. For example: Basically, I love old things and I
‘m not a fan of the throwaway society. I love old cars, old vehicles, old technology, everything that is old. Old clothes and so on. I just don’t like the old way of thinking. That’s why it’s very important that you separate them from each other. And the music
Inspires me. I also dance boogie, i.e. boogie woogie, to the music. I sing the music with my band. And when I hear the music, it’s like that, you immediately feel like dancing and being happy, or empathizing with quieter things like that. Yes, that’s
Easy, I like the style of clothing, the music and everything about it. But it’s also an attitude to life somewhere , like what you mean by rockabilly: old things. Not everything is old, for example the attitude, but just the love for the old and not always new new new. I first got into music when I was 11 and at 12 I went to my first rock and roll concert. And I know I was so freaked out and the band was called Root Bootleg Band. And I
Was really, I was like, wow wow what kind of music is this? How cool! And then I also devoted myself from time to time to clothing, i.e. the fashion scene. But I could n’t authentically wear it in everyday life. I didn’t feel like it afterwards either. You have to
Feel like it, otherwise you’re just dressing up. And then at some point, more and more and more. I went to a lot of events, such as distaff and dance events. In 2018 I started boogie dancing and actually in 2018 the turning point came
That I noticed: oh somehow in everyday life I don’t feel so comfortable in other clothes anymore. I kind of like this rockabilly style clothing. If you just relate this to clothing, I like that you can be so super feminine, but
Also so masculine. Both somehow, I think that’s great. Exactly and I like hairstyles and Hair flowers and tight dresses and dungarees and work suits. I like all of that. And I also like that the clothing is of good quality and you don’t just
Buy from fast fashion and throw it away. That’s another point. Exactly when you come out of the rehearsal room, here is my moped, my Simson. I still have a swallow, but it’s still up at my parents’ house. I prepared and
Converted it myself and I’ll soon be going on a little moped tour with it. Then my bike and of course my most emotionally important possession: my beautiful fire truck, which I have had for 7 years. And I’ll show you that too. But first we’ll go somewhere else. So here, maybe you should put emphasis on these whitewall tires, actually they are rim rings, I think they make the car really stylish. It is a classic car and is also registered as a classic car. And I just love the LT because it’s such a perfect size and
It was clear to me from the start that the LT was my perfect car. We have many LTS in the family. My brothers each have an LT and my parents also had an LT as the first car in the West. And took a trip around the world with it. I just think it’s
Really cool that you open the door and you have so much space inside. It ‘s like having your own living space again. And here is the engine underneath. That’s great in this case if you have to screw something on it. And it’s nice and quiet too, it’s a six-cylinder petrol
Engine. The technology is quite simple, which is what I like about old cars. There’s not that much Klim Bim. Then we can look back. I have two sliding doors and a little bit of stuff from the festival and whatever else I stuff in there.
Here are two more bikes. I just went to a festival a few days ago. Then, as I said, two sliding doors with windows. And you can see that there isn’t much in the bus. No kitchenette, no cupboards, I actually wanted it to be quite empty.
That you can use it flexibly. The bed is actually just two wooden things that we cut to size. Which you can take out here and then lift out. I usually keep my stuff in boxes like this. There is still a table and chair and chairs here. Then we can just go back here.
It’s a fire truck as you can see. And that’s what I love about the roller shutter. Waking up here in the morning and then being able to open the roller shutter is just so nice. Exactly and we covered it on the inside and put in some insulation. And I made the
Walls bright and many people who see my bus like that always say: Wow, really nice and bright. Exactly and you can also see the swallows, I love swallows because they also stand for freedom. I also have a tattoo of a swallow. This is my second favorite bed,
Next to my tiny house. It’s very important that I have a trailer hitch because I drive the car for work and I can pull a trailer with me. And of course my roof rack is very important. And I don’t have a ladder because at first I was too lazy and then I thought
I didn’t really need one. I always climb over this one strut here and then through the window. And then you can go up there. We built it ourselves with my brother. It’s best without shoes and then climb in here, hold on to the gutter and then you can go up there.
And I really enjoy being up here and watching sunsets. Or I also like to sleep up here. It’s really cool when I wake up in the morning or at night and you see the stars like that. That’s just really beautiful. The bus is already my most emotionally important possession. I’m absolutely happy beyond words, I’m so grateful. Above all, this is a huge point. I am absolutely grateful for everything I have and how it came about. I didn’t contribute anything to it, it just came from above. My motto is: Just do it and
I would recommend that to everyone, but it is always the background that is also important. For me it’s like this: Everything I do just like that, I’ve prayed for beforehand and I hear something The Lord gives me signs, or rather words. They say yes, do
That, or don’t do that. That’s why I wouldn’t do it in general: always go after what you want because if it had been based on what I really wanted, sometimes it would n’t be so good. But I think for most people I would recommend
Jumping over their shadow a little more. Get out of your comfort zone and just dare. Many people are afraid of change and I think that prevents many people from having beautiful experiences or beautiful changes.

finde sehr schön was du sagts, also dass man alte dinge, technik, etc toll finden kann und sich dafür begeistert ohne noch in dem denken von damals festzustecken, gerade was das frauenbild angeht leider oft fatal

Приятная подруга…
Starke tolle Frau.
