This bike is being sold for $825 with a couple things included (see photo) I’m looking to start training for a triathlon (goal is half iron man). Would this bike be a good start for me for that price?
I don’t know what it is with sellers thinking that their 15 year old bikes are worth more than 50% what they bought them for.
This is a lovely bike with a lot of life left in it, with good components and which would be fine for training for a half ironman, and which is worth at most $500.
You saw this on craigslist? Let the ad sit for like 6 weeks. Even if they don’t repost, contact them a month and a half from now, and see how they feel about selling it for a more reasonable price.

Reasonable price, but maybe a little too high given the age of the bike.
Big question is whether it fits. You should check a few bike manufacturers websites and check what size is recommended for your height and inseam. This one may be just right, or a bit big or small.
