I currently have a boardman cx with sram apex derailleur and shifters.
I want to upgrade my derailleur and cassette so I can add a bigger cassette on the back.
The current setup is a 10 speed.
My question is, can I get any sram derailleur that takes a larger cassette and throw it onto my bike without upgrading the shifters?

Im not too familiar with sram but you need to consider chain wrap capacity as well. You should determine how big of a cassette you want to put on and go from there.
Depends. By bigger do you mean a lower gear? It’s 10 speed so you can buy a SRAM GX 10 speed rear derailleur and it would handle a larger cassette. Up to a 42t. But that won’t work well at all with your 2x setup up.
You could probably put an 11-36 cassette on there with the GX derailleur and it should work ok. Just need a new chain as well then.
