A PERFECT SPOT ON THE DORDOGNE RIVER!
We head further into the Dordogne, and our next camping spot is right on the banks of the Dordogne river itself.
We stay at ‘Camping La Plage’, in Vezac, a perfect site to explore the Dordogne, with the beautiful medieval villages of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle and La Roque Gageac within walking/cycling distance….or just to cool off and have a little paddle in the river itself!
It’s a popular site, even late in the season, but we can see why. Lots to do, and discover in this area, whether for just a quick few days, or a few weeks.
So having spent three lovely nights at the csite um near Brom we are moving on today it’s moving day and we are going further into the dooro region we are headed towards our next campsite it’s a new campsite for us we’ve never stayed here before but it is quite near to a
Good few um Villages that look like they quite pretty and uh worth visiting so we’ll see when we get there ah there we are I can see a campside well there’s a an a to Camping right next to it so that might be the camping car after 300 M you have reached your
Destination what it um camping the Plage the pl see looks like an air next to the air so it’s a little bit further on you have reached your destination I know that is it yeah and then there’s an air as well yeah I’m going to try and this is the campsite we’ve been
Staying at on the banks of the dooro in vac it is camping La Plage now I don’t get confused because there’s camping the Plage but there is also right next to it an air here which is also very very nice it’s full at the moment by the looks of it and that’s a
Camping air um that you can also stay on but it’s not actually part of the campsite so if you drive through here that’s the entrance to the uh air camping car where you have to pay this is the driveway through to the uh camping the pretty spectacular backdrop for
It and make your way over to reception so over here look this bit put yourself up just here and present it reception which is just there no problem booking in speak perfect English the campsite also has a really nice Terrace area that serves snacks ice creams drinks
Etc so put yourself in and come and grab a pitch they usually give you a map with available pitches and you just have to choose one that’s available now I will say that this is a very very popular campsite even at this time of year out of season obviously not
Out of season for the door doing it is rather busy lots and lots of Vans as you can see not quite what we used to and the pictures are not particularly delineated by bushes or anything but they are under large trees with lots of shade which is uh is very helpful in the
Door doing I presume when it gets very very very very hot it’s been hot even while we’ve been here and the reason why this campsite is so very busy is because it’s close to a lot of um tourist heavy villages in dooro so basically if you go down that
Route through there and there is an area called The Rock ganyc which is a really pretty Village that’s built into the Rock um and it’s very popular as a tourist attraction and then if you go that way not very far at all there is also Castle Nord La Chappelle which is
Another really really pretty um village with a fort right on the top of the hillside it’s very very picturesque um so I can understand why it is quite popular because there are lots of really interesting things that are reachable from the campsite so this is the sanitary Block it’s quite a big
Block give you a quick wcky clothes washing sinks paid washers and dryers kind of semi inside outside shower cubicles a nice big size and adjustable temperature sink washing area all very modern sink cubicles dishwashing sink area with hot and cold running water and your loose basic loose um no toilet seats no
Toilet paper so bring your own everything that you need mener Rhino’s lovely Elson disposal and there is exactly the same on this side toilets showers washing up facilities and the campsite also has a very good sized outdoor S Pool close at the minute cuz it’s late in the evening
Lovely and the reason why it’s called camping the Plage is because you are right on the banks of the dooro river which is lovely through the gate out onto the banks it’s really nice out here as well cuz you can bring your chairs out you come sit yourself in the uh grassy area
Outside lovely view of the shatow down there oh do docks are coming to say hello I haven’t got anything for you then up there on the bank of the door do and then if you just walk a little bit to the right there’s a little pathway that goes
Through there and that takes you to a little snack bar and to a place where you can hire canoes and get yourself on the river and there’s the small calf and here’s the little beach and there’s the canoes that you can hire lovely right let’s head back into the campsite so there we
Are and at the end of this video I’ll put on our little trips to some of the little Villages around the area but here we are on our pitch under the trees and this is an act Affiliated campsite so per night it is costing L 17 with all the facilities including the
Swimming pool and the lovely reachable um Villages around about perfect
